In case you dont know, the face tat/scar Gaara branded himself with means "love" representing the literal idea of _gaara_ = "the demon only loving itself"

It gives me goosebumps; Rasa seeing how his son has changed from being a "cursed child" that he attempted to kill SIX times, and who was a jinchuriki filled with nothing but loneliness and hatred. He became Kazekage, he became loved and respected by his people, he made friends, and he even earned the respect of other fellow Kages like Ohnoki. Gaara really has come such a long way.

Gaara will always be my favorite character in Naruto and his backstory tears me up everytime.

I swear, Gaara has the single greatest character arc in any anime. He went from an emotionless, homicidal kid who crushed people for simply inconveniencing him. To the most loved man within his village and holding the respect of every other leader in the Shinobi world. And we watched it happen, almost every step of the way. I'd *love* to watch a spinoff series that just followed Gaara's growth, and his rise to being Kazekage.

Garras dad in this episode ordered the uncle to take garras mothers love from him specifically, that was past of what was revealed, we’ve seen all this before but only the uncle and Garra not the actual order. This was a big drop when it came out

Gaara's dad doesn't get redemption in my eyes. He willingly made Gaara a Jinchuuriki KNOWING Karura would die giving birth to him. Also they mention that by the time Gaara was 6 years old, his father had attempted to have him killed at least 5 times. He wanted to make his son a weapon just because the village felt like their defenses were incompetent. It's also implied that he had tried to turn Temari and Kankuro into a Jinchuuriki but for whatever reason Lady Chiyo said they wouldn't be liable vessels. Gaara was isolated from his family due to his uncontrollable powers and being prone to rages partially brought about by One Tails. So yea the way he treated Gaara at six years old was unforgivable.
