Hey allonsyy NO SPOILERS here. Some REFLECTIONS about The speech. Pain's ideologies are feasible, they are reasonable things to do. Pain isnt contradicting himself when he starts referring to himself as "an ordinary Man" ( he's dropping his pretense of beeing a "God" to truly have a heart-to-heart conversation with naruto as fellow disciples because he truly wants Naruto to understand his motives and see things from his perspectives ). We as the audience generally or all of Us side with Naruto and the hidden Leaf because they're the "main characters" of the story. Pain is "GIVING VOICE" to others here in the world that also suffer. I totally agree when Pain says "Humans are not the most intelligent creatures", due to the fact that we're essently a virus on the planet because we literatelly destroy other species and the environment of our planet, so That's right, biologically speaking pain is more than 100% correct. On the other hand, From our perspective (human perspective) pain is mad because he wants to Destroy nations and people? ( but That's The same thing the Leaf has done and Big countries do today in our real world as well , How Can You possibly deny That? Pain is "GIVING VOICE" to other nations (in this case he means especially small nations, like his, which was devasted because the War The Leaf Started in the First place) Why is it ONLY Far And OK for the hidden Leaf to have peace and justice when everybody else in The world also suffer Pain?? Lmao Pain is calling out the hipocrisy Naruto and The Leaf are trying to justify themselves (That part When pain talked to Tsunade, he said "Your peace has Only brought violence upon us all" That's what he means, That they're (The Leaf) are hypocrites as hell Pain's Idea for achieving peace IS MAD (mutually assured destruction), which is the same system thats in place in OUR REAL WORLD today to deter nuclear War. He wants a world where M.A.D will keep the peace for a while and when it breaks, when people use tail Beats, they"ll experience pain again, and That pain will force them to Go back to the period of peace. This will continue over and over, that pain will keep humanities violent Nature in check, allowing peace to exist. You can definitely disagree with Pain's ideias of achieving peace because they're Pretty extreme from our perspective, however with his speech You Just can't, because he's spitting Facts here. Pain's character is a masterpiece completely, he's a character Very grounded in realism. An Epic Villain. For me he's One The Best Creations in all fiction honestly, not only The greatest written Naruto character, Itachi, Sasuke, madara, kakashi And all The others are after Pain in this aspect imo. He's number One, If It werent for him, this show wouldnt be this Good you Cant argue with this he gave The Best Arc to the Entire series period. He's fuckin Sick. So Epic.

I just noticed in this watch through that I really like how Pain's first line after Naruto not having an answer is "I formed the Akatsuki in order to stop this cycle of hatred." Like that line coming after everything he just said really makes you see Akatsuki as a whole in a completely different light, and you get just a tiny, almost undetectable feeling that for entire series, the heroes have just been fighting the solution. I'm not saying "Oh. the Akatsuki were the good guys all along" (Hidan exists lol), but it’s a line that zooms out on the entire series with a new perspective.

it's like naruto has only a calendar planner while pain already has his life all planned out. you can really see how small naruto is in this arc despite of being currently stronger in this timeline. his vision is to be a hokage and bring world peace but the question is "how?". it's easy to talk about peace when you had all your life is comfort. this arc made naruto looked like out of touch. he only had discrimination as his agony in his childhood but pain has lost people left and right from a war that they don't want to be involved in the first place.

13:30 well, if you think like Tail Beast Weapon=Atomic Bomb, it kind of make sense. According to the explanation in episode 130, Pain's first usage of the Weapon is kind of like Hiroshima, and after the surrounding nations witness the power of the weapon, Pain says that they would eventually use them in the future. Probably by this time, Pain had mass-produced it and had already passed them down to the surrounding nation. Kind of like all of the nations in the real world has been armed with nukes. Then the second usage of the weapon in like Nagasaki, it may become the realization for the surrounding nations on what Pain is. Pain theorizes that there would be peace after this. in the real world, there has been no Nuclear War or a really BIG war after WW2 bombing in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Therefore, technically Pain's theory does work, and US the viewers are the living proof of it.

The Leaf have spent a lot of time struggling to understand Pain's powers, now we get a bit of the shoe on the other foot. Pain thought it a good idea to try and suck the Sage power out of Naruto using Chakra Absorbing Pain, but he doesn't know the rules: and thus he was hoisted from his own petard and had to watch his penultimate body turn into a frog statue. Unfortunately, Yahiko Pain is the strongest for last, and immediately kills Pa Toad to keep them from putting him under genjutsu, then pins Naruto down in a swift motion. With Shikadai, Inoichi, Shikamaru and Ino formulating a plan to try and find the real Pain - Nagato - Naruto is a sitting duck. Thankfully though, Naruto lures Nagato Pain into a villain monologue; Inoichi realises from his mind siphoning that Nagato can only transmit from a distance from the tallest point within range. As they mull this, Nagato Pain reveals his intentions for Peace, reminding Naruto of his own hardships which makes it very hard to argue with him; as badly as Naruto has suffered, Nagato, Konan and Yahiko suffered just as much if not worse at a younger age, in a nation favoured more as a battlefield than a village, vengeance will only beget more vengeance, and that is what makes Pain such a brilliantly complex villain. With Naruto unable to think of a worthy answer over how he could achieve peace in a better way, Pain notes that his plan exists merely to keep people peaceful through the fear of destruction: a parallel to the threat of Nuclear War, there will be peace for a time at least, until a new cycle forms and ends the same way.

I don't know if anyone else has gotten this relation but. I think Kishimoto here is relating the "Tailed Beast Weapon" to the Nuclear bombs. Like how in our world they are a deterrent, as something so destructive and inhumane that everyone fears. One thing Pain is not contradicting Jiaraya. It's the same concept but different approach. Jiaraya said peace is achieved when people understand each other. It's what we called Empathy. In real world we still try to teach empathy to people. Pain is trying to force the understanding to people. Let everyone feel Pain and fear so they understand everyone. Spoiler ahead… Not exactly. What pain wants is to make everyone feel the same pain so they are able to understand that war is not worth it. Naruto would never attack any of the villages for the sake of peace. If anything, is just that every village knows they are gonna lose if they go to war with the leaf. Pain wants to end war by having everyone comprehend pain. Naruto unknowingly brings peace by being the symbol that could end all wars by himself if he really wanted too.

If you compare weapons of mass destruction that Pain talks about to an atomic bomb and the interests of large countries and small countries suffering from wars, you have the situation that is happening right now. Hmmm ... let's see. Starting a war to obtain valuable resources and raw materials, the suffering of smaller countries, the risk of using an atomic bomb. An interesting analogy that is happening right next to me because my country is adjacent to Ukraine. Violence is never the solution. Violence breeds violence. That's why I have so much respect for characters like Naruto, Hashirama, Sarutobi, Jiraiya, Tsunade, Gaara, etc, and I don't like people like Sasuke, Danzo, Tobi. Characters for whom their sick ideas are the most important instead of looking for peaceful solutions. Walking the path of peace is much harder than just taking revenge like Pain. It's easier to force someone to do something. It is much more difficult to get things done peacefully. That's why I'll always be on the side of Naruto. The Will of Fire!

Tbh when I first saw this it was when it first aired in English sub and I don’t read the manga so I thought it was the end of Naruto shippuden or they were starting to wrap it up for maybe another season and so I didn’t have any faith in him if I’m gonna be honest not until later In the fight.

Pain is a stupidly well made character, listening to his speech u really see his point of view n that he really believes in it. If I really think about it Pain probably was the first character to make me really wonder about the correlation between pain n hate.
