In a time when your nation can come under attack at any moment AND your citizens' memories are altered, the best thing you can be is a pragmatic nationalist. Lol. Like I said, I'm not really trying to compare or downplay the previous Hokage, but IQ wise, Shikamaru's definitely the smartest. We just don't get to see it much because he’s lazy, hasn't gotten much screen time since his arc in Shippuden, and isn't a fighter like other characters. Amado has obvious advantages we don't even fully know about, so of course he's gonna be smarter. Other characters have bigger feats because they're stronger. But no doubt Shikamaru's a big reason why Naruto's administration had been running as smoothly as it has for all these years. My point is just that his head is in the right place and Konoha probably couldn't have a better person take over for Naruto while he's gone in this situation. As much as I like Shikamaru, he should never have become Hokage. He is by far the weakest Hokage and don't get me wrong. Yes, he is the wisest by far, but that is not what the Hokage position is about. Hokage is primarily about strength and personality and the fact that I am right about this is clearly seen in the previous Hokages before him. Sharingan Kakashi, Sannin Tsunade "Slug Princess", Yellow Flash, Professor Hiruzen, God of Shinobi Hashirama. They all have strength and, above all, legendary personality. Shikamaru should have always just remained an advisor. An advisor doesn't have to be strong, because he is only there to advise.

Naruto 16 years later still hasn’t brought peace to the rain village, which means he was lying to Nagato. Shikamaru is already a better hokage than Naruto. Her recruited Eida, Daemon, and Amado back to the leaf after Code kidnapped Amado. Saved Naruto and Sasuke from getting neg diff by code, if they ran into Eida before they kidnapped Amado. Naruto wouldn’t negotiate a deal to have Eida get with Kawaki, because Naruto wouldn’t use his sons for political gains. But Shikamaru doesn’t care which is way he made that deal. If Naruto could keep Kawaki in check he wouldn’t be sealed in a timeless dimension for the past 3 years. Compare that to Shikamaru who kept Kawaki in check for the past 3 years, and now a double agent working with Boruto/koji to take down the shinju.

@NarutoExplained Probably...🤔 WITH Kurama...that is making Uzumaki superiority bit on shady side for me. As Boruto is now Alien host, so he will be stronger, than Naruto, or anyone else. But unlike earlier gens, BORUTO gen especially stopped training, mostly supported by technology + hidden unfair boosts. Maybe You should make rank of strongest, but taking away any biyuu, aliens powers, fakely inherited ones(like magic of one movie Hamura power)...just basing on training, hard work, maybe accepting clan boosts, like kekken genkai...🤔 That would be interesting.
