The first verse was the best & most realistic & relatable out of all 3 verses. It's a glimpse into an all too common reality, from co-defendants screwing you over to your wifey skipping town with your bail money. All while being far away from home & gar away from anyone that really cares about you. Scary.

this and Nature Shines was on the cassette of I Am, Nas used to do that alot back in the day he would put songs on the tape but not the CD, he did the same thing with Silent Murder on It Was Written.. This is probably my favorite Braveheart song..
@NeoNitty26 күн бұрын
Record companies actually did that as an incentive to those who bought the tape and those who bought the CD. A lot of our favorite albums of the day had hidden/different tracks and n the CD and tape. Lol, memories…

I know I'm crazy late makin' this comment, but here it goes: This is one of the reasons Nas is my favorite artist of all time. No other rapper would have made a track like this and preach a sermon on a song like this, maybe DMX, but besides him I can't think of anyone else. This track is real as fuck. If Nas wasn't a hip hop artist he could have been easily one of the greatest motivational speakers and even a pastor or reverend. Truthfully I think that was his true calling or God just laid this on his heart.

There’s still some songs out there that never leaked. The Source talked about a song with Method Man and another with D’Angelo. The full version of The Curse has never been leaked either. A shame. I would love to hear what Nas actually intended with this album. And the fact that the late great Nipsey was going to do a documentary on the album intrigues me even more
@australium73743 жыл бұрын
@@sinematic06 some suspect the album could’ve been longer than 30 tracks, when nas in his hidden interviews he said it was going to detail a lot. He may have had 40 tracks. Music like this represents a particular world, where the young men that live in it, are by circumstance and condition faced with the gravity of an uncertain outcome in day to day life. This is struggle music.. stories of young men who exist in a reality that is difficult to comprehend. & for The Brave Hearts to bring this to the surface and give it life creatively says something about their character.. their depth.. and their truth. Big ups to Queensbridge Housing Projects. & long live the spirit of hip hop.
