Nas is EASILY the best to ever do it. This is coming from a dude who's seen all the great eras of hip hop and a certified born and bred hip hop head. When you factor in creativity, skills, lyricism, classic albums and songs, career accomplishments (artistically), and overall status, Nas is undoubtedly the best MC to bless a mic. All due respect to the others that merit consideration.
@Israel-nb7ip4 жыл бұрын
@J Crash Rakim is in my top 3 for sure. But he just doesn't have Nas' longevity. But Ra changed the game forever and is probably the biggest reason we had a hip hop golden age that ran from '87-'97.

well you're forgetting quite a few names dont get me wrong, I absolutely love Nas, but honestly, calling him the best feels off when there are atleast a few names who tie him that are just as timeless: Prodigy MF DOOM Biggie (If you forget the era of rap he's attached to for a moment and just listen to how he sounds on a good bunch of his lesser known stuff, you'd agree with me on this one) Guru, or Gang Starr as a whole As much as I hate to admit it, Eminem's old stuff sounds modern. I could go on and on really

@@FalB27 I can safely say Nas is the best from everything and everyone I've heard. And I love MF Doom (underground rap GOAT IMO). I think Biggie is bar for bar the most talented and complete MC in rap history but the reason I put Nas ahead is because of his range of topics. That said, I think Biggie was on his way towards making more music of substance as he matured and def could've been ahead of Nas.

The way they see the world is like, not even dealing with the bullshit we dealing with. We deal with money and cars and smog and pollution and drugs. You know, walking the streets. It’s like being in the water for fish. The difference between them and fish, being in the sky they can fly and look at the world without dealing with our bullshit. Matter of fact they shit on us. So the way they look at things, I really admire them. It represents life also. On the 'Stillmatic' album cover I needed some life-a plant, a tree. The skys probably looking dark as it's NYC post 9/11
