People need to realize there were TWO meetings. The first time, Nas was only with a couple dudes and Pac was deep when he stepped to Nas. Pac was inspired by nas so it's easy to believe pac would make peace with nas. Their music is similar, they have a rebel feel in their songs so there's no point in them rebelling against each other.
@rtc778810 жыл бұрын
Justin Scott You mean Nas was inspired by Pac right? Nas was hardly a somebody, and Tupac was like the top of the game. But yeah, Nas is lying. He's referring to the MTV Music Awards in 96, Hussen Fatal was telling the truth, as you can even see the video Tupac was rolling with a ton of dudes.
@alexstafonis17639 жыл бұрын
Nas was hardly a somebody? He may not have been as famous as Tupac and Biggie at the time, but Tupac had to be stupid to believe he'd be able to battle it out with Nas without some casualties along he way. Nas was considered more of an underground rapper at the time, he became more commercial after Tupacs and Biggies deaths, especially during the Jay-Z & Nas beef. But to cut it short, I believe Nas is a better rapper than Tupac. None of Tupacs albums can even come close to Illmatic, not CLOSE.
@rtc77889 жыл бұрын
Alex Stafonis Nas' album sales at his best couldn't even sell half of what Tupac's albums were selling in the mid 90's. Not saying Nas is a bad rapper, but if he's so good and above Tupac level, why is he hardly relevant now?

+JAY OH Similar style? No. Nas was way more intricate and lyrically better. 2Pac had a more simple style, he put his message on a platter, was easier to absorb and understand. Dude, illmatic. Pac has not one album superior to illmatic... in Mcing!! Dude Pac was a revolutionary period. But it was not off the strength of his dexterity on the mic. His soul, his passion, his voice, his energy... highly emotive and inspirational. Nasir is the far superior MC of the two but NO rapper influenced the urban world like pac, you're right on that. Which brings me back to subjectivity. ILLMATIC is the thriller of hip hop and then some, imo

And it's evident in both's word play. Nas rhymes are more complex, abstract and well thought out. Pac's thing was connecting with his listener and his rhymes were more straight to the point. This doesnt make one greater than the other. Pac could tap in to the listeners emotion likely better than any other. But Nas is the better writer. And as I've said before Pac is bigger than rap. Suge and Pac told a different story. Tupac confronted Nas at the Mtv music awards and said "Yo you got a problem with me?" And Nas was like "Hell no I don't have no problems with you" and they shook hands and talked about doing some shit together,
