I'm afraid there is a problem with the rocket. The rocket? what is it? It is a big thing full of fuel that shoots into the sky, but that's not important right now.

Not to hate on SpaceX but I appreciate the title change to reflect expectations on this channel, SpaceX’s video still says “launch” not upset! Just pointing it out. Glad they are safe👍 Edit: I’m sure they are working hard on fixing the rocket not their title

Could SpaceX use one of the "basic" 2nd stage Starship models to turn into a part of a new earth orbit space station?
@steveaustin2686
@steveaustin2686 Жыл бұрын
The payload area is roughly 1,000 cubic meters on Starship. The pressurized area of the ISS is under 1,000 cubic meters. So yes, a Starship (second stage) would make an acceptable station with the addition of docking ports, solar panels, radiators, etc. SpaceX had the GAO redact the info on what is the Starship propellant depot for HLS Starship. If the [DELETED] Starship propellant depot is only a propellant depot, why have the GAO redact the info? I think that it is because the [DELETED] Starship propellant depot may also be a crew transfer station. That would allow manned Starship missions, without waiting for the Starship to prove it is reliable enough for Earth launches and landings. And if Starship can't get that reliable, then you have a way to host the capsules during a manned Starship mission.

@@minnesotavikingsfan9010 Yes, there was a problem with the Ground Support Equipment (GSE), so the launch was pushed back to March 2nd. Which has NOTHING to do with the question of if Starship can be turned into a space station.

I wonder if the abandonment has to do with Tesla poor car quality seeping into his rockets? So disappointed. Maybe NASA should have stuck with Boeing instead of Space X.

Boeing would need a vehicle licensed to carry astronauts to orbit for that to happen. Ideally one that didn't get lost on the way. Unfortunately, I think that the 747 max poor quality probably seeped into their rockets. :-)

Actually, NASA is still stucked with Boeing until now, without much progress. Without SpaceX, Americans would still be sending Astronauts to Russia for a much higher price.
