The 9500rpm monsters from ~2003 to 2018 produced some of the best noises to grace the sport of NASCAR. That sound when they get off the gas screaming into T1 at 200 MPH is simply unbeatable. When NASCAR debuted the 550hp package, that resulted in the cars barely even cracking 9k. They sounded identical to the Xfinity cars. The Next Gen cars have their own guttural rumble that I love, but nothing beats the 700-900hp engines.

These qualifying laps are better than current races. Drivers actually having to drive an ill handling racecar rather than the planted GT cars of today
