@@mattakastarkill3r402 it's not dead, but the racing was far superior with these cars. Tuned to the max with horsepower and no reliance on aero dependence. It was all driver skill.

The cars moved around because they weren't (yet) sealed to the ground. That required seat of the pants feel and large "attachments".
@nascarcrazy243 жыл бұрын
@@fogalicious2644 In 2004 the cars were 100% aero dependent, but they were able to partially offset that dependency with mechanical grip since coil binding setups that sealed the car to the ground weren't yet a thing.

I used to work at a company where we made extremely high tier bolts, screws, nuts, and such like nit bits. Several of our customers were accounting agents in NASCAR. So every time I think about the odd 10,000 bolts and washers I made, because we usually had orders for 100,000+, I ultimately knew who I was making them for and end up watching nascar videos. They aren't on the track today because this was back in 2014 but it's still cool to be part of that chain. A crucial part. No bolts, screws, or nuts? Car no go far. Fun fact. These bolts and everything were made with a 1918 Acme "Gridley Automatic Turret Lathe". Some of these cars are held together by parts made out of a machine that's, at least now, 103 years old.

NASCAR needs to start a series running this body style of cars. I know there was a lot of complaints about how they all looked the same but basically they were just badass Late models, and that would make for a cool ass series nowadays. It’d probably become more popular than trucks and xfinity fairly quickly.
