Manufacturing process of Nascar engines. These beasts are limited to 358 ci (5.9l) and will reach up to 850hp.
Incredible sound especially when you see 30-40 roaring V8s on high rev at the same time.

Modeled after American made four door passenger cars. Nope, the Chevy SS was an Australian passenger car, Holden VF Commodore. Piston rings don't prevent the car from buring oil, they prevent the engine from burning oil. OHC's don't always act directly on the valves, rockers are often used. So the alternator powers the Airconditioning in a NASCAR, that's very funny. The machine runs the motor? I think the motor runs the dyno.

In addition to all the other items pointed out, some of this information is just plain wrong. Easiest example is installing the rod bearing caps AFTER the compression check. That literally cannot work. Additionally, to check the swept area of a cylinder, which is part of checking the compression ratio, you have to measure at both the top and the bottom of the stroke. Also omitted is measuring the volume of the cylinder head. I'm not going to bother with the rest. This video is so wrong it's a waste of time to watch it.

This video was a joke..It shows and audio denotes the bare non detailed buildup process..These engines are actually built and designed to exacting standards with the best materials made and best engine building procedures and craftsmen. I would have thought this video would have paid tribute to the detailed build process, techniques, detailed build and parts requirements to ensure maximum horsepower and torque with the best reliability and durability possible. No mention or visible evidence here of any gaskets (except heads) used to build this engine..I understand that NASCAR engine building and techniques are top secret but this video did very little to show how a NASCAR engine and build differ from a conventional car manufacturer engine build..Very disappointing video especially in the lacking any concrete details or facts.

It’s a “How it’s Made” episode, not an engineer’s guide to building a Ford NASCAR engine. I thought it was darn good for a half hour TV program condensed down to 10 minutes for KZbin. Give them a break and appreciate what it demonstrates.

@@Jbennyho That's exactly the problem and issue with this video. It doesn't demonstrate any important particulars of the buildup of a NASCAR engine. It reminds one of the TV program "How it's made" of building a major automotive factory engine.. No details or specifics..What can one learn from such a video? Nothing.

0:10 - Ya gotta stop the vid right there to get a look at the chamber. Note how close to the cylinder C/L they managed to get the working end of the plug. Look at the size of the coolant port right under the exhaust port. Look at the percent of cylinder area they got as quench. Betting they're getting good dyno numbers at less than 30* ignition lead. 1:31 - There are 12 contacts on that distributor cap - ? 4:16 - The earliest vid suggested flat-top pistons; looks like NASCAR rules require some pockets.

NASCAR is run by a multi Billionaire family with a business structure similar to a Political system with multi layers of managers and directors all making big dollars and the winning teams and team owners are unfairly connected to this business family enterprise. NASCAR success is a good old boy buddy system where partiality is shown to those teams and owners that are tight with the family. As far as NASCAR rules and management and enforcement, very poor at best. NASCAR should study Formula 1 to see how a motorsports group is effectively run and professionally managed where are all teams and owners are treated equally and fairly. The decrease in NASCAR public interest and attendance is directly related to the poor organization, poor management, poor marketing poor reputation and unethical race decisions showing favoritism often displayed at races around the country many of which have occurred recently and still remain controversial.
