Interesting thing is Richard Petty went over the wall earlier in that race and then when Richard Petty got released from the Care center that's when his dad Lee Petty went over the wall.

I'm proud to say that the theme song for this biography of Lee Petty (played at the beginning and the end of the bio) is by my father's Rockabilly band Bobby Poe and The Poe Kats. The band was one of the few interracial Rock 'n' Roll bands of the 1950's (Big Al Downing was their piano player). The band was also Wanda Jackson's first Rock 'n' Roll touring/backing band.

As a kid in the 70s and 80s I was all football and BB but have gotten into watching stuff about the men of NASCAR from the early days through the 90s and it's partly because it reminds me of how I remember America growing up and the lessons we learned from our parents and grandparents about why you should appreciate what you have, and sadly Lee's generation is all but gone and Richards is on it's way out and I fear for the future of America when all that's left is ppl born after 1980!

That statement is even more true now, almost 3 years later. You my friend are one extremely intelligent guy. And modest.

Now I know why they ran Plymouth's. Good running cars, cheapest brand that Chrysler had. Proud to own a '73 Fury ;D

Excellent documentary on one of NASCAR legendary Hall of Fame Champions. Lee Petty was a true racer. He raced for all the right reasons, including providing for his family. Excellent tribute to a great Champion of NASCAR.

There are few names that are American through and through. Petty is one of those. What a great spot to hold. Southern Born and Southern Bred. Dixie raised a fine one.

There's a race on youtube from Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh NY. that Lee was in. The old timers from around here say he was a little on the dirty side racing.

Yes I think you right. He just act & look like type put you in the wall very hard over 1 dollar bill. You don't have money fix what he himself tore up. Oh well that your problem sure not Lee's problem. I always thought they was more to his wreck with Beauchamp than accident maybe little pay back ?? Not trying talk ill of the dead, but I would like know truth too.

The background music (theme song) for this biography is very nice, except it drowns out the voice's of the people in the video, as i really wanted to learn about " Lee Pettys " life and time's, this was very annoying ! But that being said, i could not hear the video and moved on to another ...... Thank- You for the song because that's all i heard...........
