NASCAR Is (A Little Bit) Rigged

I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed how often a late race caution benefits a Hendrick Motorsports driver who had no shot of winning without said yellow. I really do kinda wonder why there are so many overtime finishes. Granted, I was really young at the time, but I really don’t remember many races ending under yellow before the invention of the GWC rule. I can distinctly remember *one* from when I was a kid. So why all of a sudden do *so many races* go into overtime?

With less than 25 laps to go NASCAR will look for any reason at all to throw a caution. They usually wait for something to happen, but occasionally they will just throw the caution anyways. This usually results in a chain of events. A restart with very little laps to go. The drivers go full send mode and crash. That sends them into overtime. But if they end up having too many overtimes, they will try to end the race as quickly as possible. By that point the race has dragged on too long. NASCAR goes all in on entertainment and they know when they have lost the audience attention.

In my personal opinion. If a caution comes out where the lead car is within 100 feet of the line with the white flag shown the field should be frozen then and there *except the closest cars within the distance which will be scored at the line. Might not make total sense in the way I described it, but in my mind visually it works. I hate what they did. I am a Parker Kligerman fan and this hurt so god damn much.

I didn't watch this race because it was opening season for hunting. About midway through my hunt, I got about 14 messages in a minute, I check and see its from my brother who watched the race. Without reading it I went "Yep, NASCAR did some stupid shit again" and when I got home, I can confirm that NASCAR did indeed, do some stupid shit again

Overtime is perfectly fine. People would bitch whether it ended under green or yellow. It at least gives them a shot at getting a green flag finish out of it. But somehow, NASCAR has managed to make something as trivial as *throwing a caution* a judgement call. For as much as I believe NAACAR has been massively going in the right direction the past few seasons, we’re also probably at or at least near the peak of NASCAR tyranny due to the near monopoly they have on the sport, which is exemplified best by the whole charter ordeal. I wish NASCAR could change on its own, but something’s going to have to force it to change

I think no one would care if races ended under yellow still. No one likes the unlimited overtime and hates the mess it makes, let alone controversies. I hate overtime and wish they would just end the race under yellow and give the win to the driver who deserved it.

The biggest case against nascar being rigged for HMS is the Daytona road course in 2021. Elliott dominating, caution for “rain”, chaos happens and Bell wins. Now if nascar did favor HMS why would they throw the caution knowing that Elliott winning his first race since the championship and after coming up short in the 500 would’ve been a good story? TLDR, nascar is just inconsistent/wants chaos no matter what.

Yep. This. I know it's more exciting to think there's some big conspiracy (and this applies to many other things in life), but the reality is most of the time it's literally just incompetence, laziness, or greed. There isn't some massive rigging of the sport, Nascar just wants chaos and as many story lines as they can milk out of each race. Does that benefit Hendrick oftentimes? Of course. Does it hurt them too? Sure. Does it make the entire result feel totally manufactured? Yep. And that's the problem. It doesn't have to be rigged for the result to be cheap and manufactured drama.

2022 WG. The 2022 Roval and The championship race that same year also come to mind where in all those 3 races If it was Rigged for HMS then Why did NASCAR decided to make up their own rules. And not throw a caution for a Spinning Kyle busch. Who was sitting there in the Entrance of the Pit barriers stalled for a few minutes until he was able to continue. But the 15 Of Joey hand. Spins and Scraps the barriers. Just a bit. Keeps going. Doesn't get stuck.. no Damage. Just a Tiny hit. BOOM. Yellow. All because they wanted Teammate drama between the 9 and 5. On some Level of DTS nonsense. Tension between the two Teammates! In the words of Vince mcmahon! CAN THEY CO EXIST PAL! And Make all the Elliott haters that were salty about Atlanta and Nashville Get their Payback The piece of cardboard that was Thrown somewhere in the middle of the Track.. which lead NASCAR Setting Elliott up to get Dumped by AJ and Reddick. On the restart. Bell won that race too Or in the championship race where NASCAR Threw him into a game 7 moment where he'll end up turning himself into the Nose of Chastain breaking his toe link and Helping Logano Walk away with the championship after Bell's Crew member messed his finger up. And Ross. Couldn't do anything with Blaney Helping out. All those 3 races. NASCAR when he had a win Locked up He got thrown into the fire all for Chaos and entertainment

I am a HMS fan and a JRM fan so I am completely biased when I say this, NASCAR rigging races for HMS is the most ridiculous thing I hear as a slight against Hendrick. The Daytona 500 this year sure Byron won in a HMS car, but who did he beat? Alex Bowman in a HMS car it does not matter when Nascar threw the yellow a HMS car was gonna win. Indy earlier this year preece got the car fired and turned around for about 4 seconds. In that time Nascar could have thought he could have gotten refried ( this is also not even considering what Nascar did at Pocono last year with a JGR car). Then last week at the roval the caution was gonna and should have been thrown regardless, in my opinion Nascar wanted a storyline of a last second caution to send the race to ot and get a better storyline. With all of this being said I am biased 😭😭 Hendrick gets away with a lot of shit, and it hurts that Parker lost last week because he is my favorite non HMS driver. I wish Nascar was just consistent with there calls

I honestly think they tried to wait for Parker to take the white before throwing the flag, but didnt want the field in a full send into turn 1. So, they tried to pull it right at the line, errantly triggering it just before the line.

And Bell wins 2; WG when Elliott had the race Under control. After Battling Larson. All day. As soon as Dillon Pits he'll be back to the lead. But. NASCAR decided to Make up their own rules. And Not throw a caution for a Spinning Kyle busch that was Seveal minutes. Stalled in the Entrance of the Pit barrier. In the middle of turn 1.. Boom No caution but Caution for the 15 who Scrapped the Barriers. No damage. Just a Tiny hit. BOOM caution because NASCAR wanted. Teammate drama. On some Level of DTS nonsense. Tensions between the Teammates! As Vince mcmahon would say. CAN THEY CO EXIST PAL!. We can't have Elliott haters throwing a Meltdown on Social media! After Nashville and Atlanta we got to send them Home Happy! 3: 2022 Roval when a Piece of cardboard fell on the track..similar to this past atlanta race when Suarez was Leading. Making NASCAR throw Elliott into the Wolves to get Dumped by Either Almendinger or Reddick 4; The 2022 championship race when NASCAR threw Elliott into the Fire of a Game 7 moment where. He Turned himself into the Nose of Chastain. Taking out the only car that could of Challenged Logano. After Bell's Crew member messed his finger up. And Chastain couldn't do anything with Blaney Helping out Logano All those races where he got Thrown into the wolves all for Chaos and entertainment.

the officials do NOT watch the broadcasted feed of the race, a reason they said they dont is because they show replays. sometimes you see a replay and will think its live and jump for the caution.

NASCAR says they don't watch the broadcast because someone might accidentally throw the caution for a replay. They had several minutes of the 48 and 1 running 1-2 before the accident to decide who they "wanted to win" before the accident so that part makes no sense. They still threw the yellow before the white flag so the delayed yellow changed nothing.

My biggest question is why sam mayer? Yes it is a hendrick affiliated team but lets be honest how many hendrick fans care that much about sam mayer? If anything it makes a lot more sense for nascar to wait for parker to cross the line and give him the win instead since hes retiring so it would be a better story and lots of people seemed very sad to see him go when he announced his retirement very recently.
