There’s no way he’d stick it out with a cut down tire at the front of the pack a year after Earnhardt died. If that thing blew he was out regardless. I say good on him for trying to find a way out if it

First clip is exactly why you always want to be predictable in racing. Whether Go-Karts, NASCAR, iRacing, bicycles, etc. the goal is to run a predictable line, and the leaders will go around. The lapped car was the opposite of predictable, and the wreck ensued.
@runrafarunthebestintheworld
@runrafarunthebestintheworld 2 жыл бұрын
I think Lepage honestly thought he could merge and block the pack without wrecking the field and thought they would go around him but they didn't.
@jdellison3817

Racing is never predictable and as a driver you must never think it is... 22 years driving 1/4 dirt, drag raced 12 years pro stock and gasses in 60s... racing true GASSERS again in Carolina's Georgia and Tennessee using old rules @ 74 and that rule still has not changed...

About the thumbnail, the shame of it is that Kevin Swindell was having a solid run that day in that 16 car and had real talent, but never got the right opportunities beyond this one off before injuries cut his career short.

The more I see the Kevin lepage thing, the more I realize , he was basically used as a pick and the ones that moved, moved and the ones that didn’t were a part of history lmao.
@Dasbulldoge
@Dasbulldoge 2 жыл бұрын
No, there’s a reason there is a rule about rejoining on the back stretch, the front cars moved and the back cars didn’t have room or time after he moved up into the racing line
@kkfan97
@kkfan97 2 жыл бұрын
He was not supposed to be above the double yellow line at that point. He was supposed to wait until coming out of turn 2 to merge back up when he was at a higher speed. The massive speed difference between Lepage and the pack made for no time for the drivers in the pack to react and avoid it.

Nascar officials must have balls of steel, to sit there and be like "oh no, you disagree with me and show it, unsportsmanlike conduct" lets get really real here, whats stopping someone from deciding screw this and plow into pit lane officials at about 100ish mph? Some of these guys probably wouldnt have much to lose, and could get away with claiming they lost control of the car.
