Honestly, the cars would let you drive them off the right rear if they ditched the independent rear suspension for the old-school live axle. Bring back the driver adjustable track bar and what-not. But, I can only imagine how many millions they invested into that fragile 6-speed rear transaxle, so that's not going away anytime soon. Also, while I agree the safer barriers are always a good thing, they wouldn't be necessary at Bowman Gray if we were still racing the much safer Gen 6 car.

1) Lose the front splitter that with even the slightest damage you're kinda screwed. 2) Lose the underbody ground effects (again, slight damage and you're screwed) 3) establish a minimum rear ride height. 3) Add 150bhp I'm sure the 18"wheeels are appreciated by the manufacturers as well a symmetrical bodes. I'm not at all sure all the snap oversteer is entirely from stiff sidewalls. I'd like to see how it performs without the easy to damage and your race is f*cked areo package. Removing the underbody panels eliminates the advantage of an nose up tail down body rake, if it doesn't establish a minimum rear deck height. I really think the basics of a really good car are there. Just give it a bit more power that every engine builder says is there for free and remove some very easy to damage and expensive items that we are told by many people in the garage are problematic. Maybe run the current car configuration at intermediate tracks and simply remove some expensive and controversial parts everywhere else?

NASCAR had to go to one lug nut because The manufacturers wanted 18 in wheels You cannot put 18 in steel wheels on a race car and 5 lug nuts doesn't work with 18 in aluminum wheels at and NASCAR tested that option. They suppose you could maybe make it work but you would have to get rid of live pit stops so That you make sure every single lug nut is tight then you got to come back in and have the torque checked. By the way tell me when was the last time a manufacturer sold a car with 15-in wheels and five lug nuts as the bigger the wheels the more lug nuts.
