This will always be the greatest era of nascar for me, it's a shame that too many in this field were taken way too soon.

I’m a Dale Earnhardt fanatic but this race here will always be my favorite Bristol race! The racing for the lead throughout this race is one reason why people loved Winston Cup Racing! This was the best commentator team nascar will ever have!

My dad took me to this race. I was five or six. I remember Davey Allison had a small hole in his car and you could see him inside shifting gears when he drove by.
@matthewthompson894 жыл бұрын
davey Allison , was one of the best to drive a race car , gone too soon . Even the intimidator himself once said that if davey had lived on , Dale said he himself wouldn’t have 7 championships. That says a lot about davey Allison coming from the intimidator. RIP Davey

Anybody remember the old hotline you could call to get the starting lineup each week? My dad and I called to get the lineup every week just to see where Earnhardt would be starting from. Watching these classic races really makes me miss my dad. He loved NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt.

I miss this iteration of Bristol, though I mainly loved the concrete repave a few years from this race. I can't really fathom why Bristol won't consider going back to the 36 degree bank.

I am a great fan of both but this does not justify the term 'underrated'. By now 'underrated' seems a synonym for 'I like that guy' and has lost all of its meaning. Both drivers are well established in the hearts of NASCAR fans as great drivers with their fair share of success, and both taken from us too soon.

This is going to be a wild one folks! A re-sealed Bristol ASPHALT track that was beyond slippery to comprehend. This was also Dale Jarrett's career rebirth as he got the famed Wood Brothers ride after Neil Bonnett's injuries suffered the week before.

When did they change it concrete and why?
@badbooking32213 жыл бұрын
@@alandavis1245 many resurfacing attempts in 91-92 were not coming out well and it is a nightmare to maintain. The concrete surface made it a lot easier to maintain. Dover took the same advice a few years later. Should add the summer race of 92 was the first race on the concrete surface
