Ya know. I didn't know this was this race until I watched it. I remember being 9 years old watching this with my great grandfather. All 3 hours as usual, I've loved NASCAR since I was a baby. I cannot express to you how broken hearted I was watching Mark Martin come up short in the last laps again. No matter, it was a great race.

These cars and engines were pure power. It's so cool listening to this. After they take the green flag and head off into turn 1 and hearing them going through the gears. So awesome. Pure power.

The cars made such an awesome sound back then. The racing was more dynamic too. A smaller team could build one awesome fast car and show up to surprise people. That isn't possible now.

DW takes during races sometimes was just totally insane. He truly said that there is no one better rhan holding off cars at Daytona than Mark Martin. Really? Ugh. This makes me sad. I have been a DW fan for years as a driver for years. He says things that are quite frankly just silly. I know im rewatching this. DW was my first favorite driver since 1989. I loved the man until he finally retired. It took me a few years, but i became a Tony Stewart fanitac.
