I know how it is to be homeless. It's a rough road I stayed in a motel for three years paying high rent cuz I didn't have enough money to get an apartment. I've worked mostly all my life to survive and this is what I did not want for my children and I seen they didn't live like me. Now dealing with a narcissist but with a big heart I got lucky in a place to live. God be with all of us in this crazy Greedy world.

The Bible teaches to discern between good and evil and who to give your money too. Drug Addiction is Evil. Never give money to the Homeless, because they will use it to buy drugs. Give them food and water. Many will not want food and water.

I have an idea. How bout some of the hotels/motels offer free room and board to a few carefully selected homeless at a time? In exchange, the homeless can work for the motel plus have a salary. (Give the motel a tax break for participating.) If the feds or state could kick in some cash in an account (that can't be accessed until a certain point), then over time they could save up some money. I know that's not a perfect plan but at least they'd have a roof over their head, a full belly and a bit of a purpose and dignity in life.

Nashville has a Drug Crises. This couple can find a job. Nashville has many job openings in Hospitality. This couple would have two incomes to work there way off the streets. Why can’t these Homeless NOT pick up their own trash? The majority of the homeless are not from Nashville. Homeless can go to shelter. The homeless who do not go to shelters are addicted to Meth, Fentanyl, Heroin, Alcohol. Nashville has many resources to support the homeless to move off the streets, find a job, and home.

Not ALL are homeless because of drugs/alcohol. ALOT of folks can't afford $1200 to $1500+ a month for rent, $200-$400 month for food, $400 month for insurance etc. These figures are just the minimum! Lord have mercy if they have a car payment, car insurance and GAS cost and maintenance on the car! Rent getting higher and higher, gas getting higher and higher, food getting higher and higher!!! There is going to be ALOT more folks getting poorer and poorer and becoming homeless by the time Biden gets out of office. The United States and the rest of the "free" world is going to be looking more like a third world country.

My opinion it's society's. Problem becauea a saying goes that if you want to be able to judge a society look at their poor. And how they treat them... He homeless issues is a big one and it's very telling.I believe that people that do outreach work are doing a lot more than is their job and more people need to donate more time.and we need to spend more tax dollars and trying to get subsidized housing building new.. an affordable homes. Or donate old buildings at least so that they can be repaired for the homeless.

Because the people feautured clearly are lazy fat asses who don't want to work. It's impossible to be unemployed in Nashville, unless you are a total loser. They also need to move on to a smaller town just like most of us will have to. I'm on my way to shop for a new town, I'm sick and tired of Nashville. It's become nothing but Hotels , bad hyped up food, and bro country.

@@christyshultz6443 My daughter and I have worked in the Healthcare Fields. When a homeless is in ER, the Social Workers find a Place for them to live, instead of releasing them back on the streets. They refuse the home provided and return to the streets. Because, they do not want to follow rules, and continue their addiction. The homeless addicted to Meth, Heroin, and Fentanyl will not go to shelters. Addicts who are on Meth, Fentanyl, and Heroin are a danger to others. They can afford there drugs, but not food. And how do they get the money to pay for their drugs. Think about it.

Offer them a job. This isnt 2008 where you're lucky to start out at 8 an hour. This is an economy where Amazon starts out at 18 an hour. UPS starts at 17 and will train you to drive trucks and then pay you 40 an hour to drive. Theres no reason to stay homeless if you're able bodied.

I wonder if I could recover from being homeless. I already don't see how I would. John Torres comment mentioned lack of an address as one obstacle. Well, we could list many more. And yes, some are no longer homeless. But let's examine these: * Stigma. * Opening a bank account. * Getting an ID. * Getting a driver's licence. * Transportation. * Healthcare What might contribute to loss of housing? * Non-payment of bills * Company fails, downsizes or eliminates a product. * Daughter gets cancer. * Healthcare if any, refuses to pay for treatment * Addiction or mental health treatment or running away from abuser * Divorce, no more job, spouse died, house fire, worse flood in 39 years washes your car away. All i can say right now, it ain't easy to come back. Some do by grace and belief. Others because others saw their humanity. And yes, some lit by determination.
