My take is that it has gained full conscience, yet it can't move. All the dog could do was scream, it wasn't supposed to be sentient, it wasn't supposed to think. But it can. All it sees is a void, a void of darkness. Its mouth hurts from the cord, they've been chewing on it long enough to the point where its mouth can't hold on for much longer. The dog disappears to be nothing, just like the void.

Very, very amazing video. I do noticed some things from this: 1. Back in 1973, the station ID would've been WMCV in the Nashville area. Today, however, it is Fox 17 - WZTV. 2. No idea about the color choices in the ending where the second commercial break begins. Seems "too dark" or too high/low in contrast. The same can be said for the PSA part, making the "Please Stand By Dog" more "normal" with the contrast. 3. Great job with the lore - and it's true that they we're getting out of bankruptcy in January 1973. I can imagine their struggles still after finally coming back on air even in September. And to anyone who is wondering if this is real: I doubt it is, otherwise, Sinclair and WZTV would've made a statement now. (Sinclair owns WZTV). Otherwise, this is a very great creepypasta, especially when it comes to broadcast anolmolies.

A "facts" aren't correct. Channel 17 wasn't broadcasting in 1973. It started as WMCV in 1968 and went off the air in 1971. Came back on air in 1976 as WZTV.

It was probably in 1990 I believe, it showed a black guy that looked like a basketball player come on screen and he said "I think I got something inside of my mouth" and made a harmonic sounding "AHHHH" and when he opened his mouth unusually wide, there was a fleshly web covering the entire innards of his mouth, it was glowing, bright red in some areas and dark red in some areas, some web was breaking apart. The commercial had a real black man, but the fleshly web inside of his mouth was generated by old CGI, maybe an amiga computer. Creepy as can be!
