So that really helped. We caught a private tour guide last year in Nassau and he was wonderful. I've been addicted to watching your videos. We cruised for the first time June 19/2017 to Roatan and Cozumel. Unknown to us, there was a tropical store brewing in the gulf and it rocked the boat pretty fierce and we got pretty sick. I had already paid for another cruise to Coco Cay and Nassau for September 4/2017 week when we decided to do the test cruise in June. I'm hoping for a much better experience this time round. Its getting close to time to sail and I've been researching everything I can. Thanks to your show, I have learned a lot. For this cruise we are taking the adult (21,21& 23 year old) children. Since we are a bit larger of a group, I thought paying for a day pass at a hotel would suit us best. I would like your opinion on whether I should go with a hotel at Cable Beach or Cabbage beach. We want a place to relax and feel settled as well as have plenty of options for parasailing, snorkeling, kayaking, jet skis and walking to attractions etc... without actually buying an excursion through the ship or online. Not everyone wants to do the same thing. If we have options on the beach from vendors, we will all be able to enjoy this trip and not be bound to a 4 hour excursion away from each other. So, are there rentals at or close to the beach and which beach do you think would best suit us?

We took a trip on the Carnival and literally stuck to a decent budget and saw quite a bit. We were able to schedule a private tour before arriving to Nassau which worked out so well! However, I didn't enjoy Freeport and wish I would've spent those extra funds in Nassau. Great Video!

Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Traveler! My sister and I just came back from our Royal Carribean cruise. And we followed your route but walked in a slightly different area. We walked through the shops and entered into a side door of Atlantis. Then we ended up walking through a tunnel that led to the pool which you can exit out onto the beach. It was another beach by Atlantis. I think we ended up on the beach that was meant for the Atlantis residents. But we snuck in anyway lol. Thank you so much for your tip as it helped us navigate through the Atlantis Resort!!

Have you been to Nirvana Beach Bar at Love Beach? Thinking that seems like a pretty laid back area. Traveling to Nassau next year and have almost 24 hrs on the island. I’ve found info to read on the place and how to get there by Jitney, but can’t seem to find much in the way of videos about the beach and the bar. Just wondering your opinion of that area! Thanks!

My parents and I are cruising in March. We have never cruised before. As a first timer in Nassau would you suggest buying a shore excursion or exploring on our own. In searching I found a free distillery tour, an inexpensive fort tour and a pirate museum. w We want to get by with spending as little extra as possible.

Jessica Ritter The first time, I would get a cab out in the port & pay for a tour. Should be no more than $20 pp. They also have Nassau tours as excursions from the ship if you're nervous about going on your own.

Great tips . . . I will definitely try some of these on my next trip to Nassau. Last time I was in Nassau I & my children rode the city's bus and was able to see a lot of the island for a few bucks(I think a dollar per person). Maybe a little risky, but we didn't get off the bus until we was back in the port area.

+Eric Phillips It depends Eric. I always weigh out the cost. We prefer balconies but if they cost a lot more than an Oceanview or inside then I don't get it. Hey Guys..so we head back to Nassau on Friday.. This video is awesome as we are going to go to paradise island instead of a pricey excursion. I have a few questions PLEASE. Also when you head back to the boat I assume you go back to your original drop off point at Paradise island OR Can you get a ride back from the entrance of Atlantis? Again THANK YOU so much!!! Candace N If you take a regular taxi they will take you directly to the beach & there are always cabs there. You only need the directions if you take the water taxi. Either way once you reach the beach turn left and keep walking to get past the crowds. You sit in front of the Atlantis.

My worry is that they'd try to drive us all over before taking us to the Atlantis. Is it really far to walk after you get off the water taxi? Time?

dej92 $4 each way pp. the cost is the same for a regular taxi or water taxi. About 10 minute drive or 30 min with the water taxi. They'll take you straight there.

Thanks Mr Traveler! I will be in the Bahamas very soon. I'm going to follow the directions that you gave getting over to the beach via water taxi. I'm looking forward to building sand castles on the beach with my young daughters. Also do you know of any liquor stores in the immediate area of where the ships dock? When I went back in December I purchased a couple of bottles of Riccardo rum. I purchased the rum at a store about a 20 minute walk from the ship docks while on a guided tour.

Hi Derrick. There is a liquor store on the street outside of the port. Turn right when you leave the port area & it's a couple blocks down. I think it's next to Sharkeys.

So that leaves almost no money for excursions. and I don't know if it's worth trying to go out on our own to save money, and risk getting lost and missing our ship. its our very first crusise ever. but it seems a waste of money if we stay on the ship when docked.

Love love your videos!!! The last time I went to Nassau the tour guide charged us 25.00 per person and now he charges 30.00. He was awesome but I need it to be a little cheaper for me.. I will be going to Nassau in Aug. and will be sure to find someone a little cheaper because I have already done the tour before . Yeah it's Laura Leave most of it in the cabin! We don't wear our jewelry. The stuff you do bring, wrap it up put it under your beach chair. I have a small bike lock, sometimes I'll lock the bag to the beach chair.

DEBORAH ROSS there is grill that is right off the beach between Atlantis & the hotel next door. There are a few stairs and it's right there. There's also people selling snacks on the beach when you first get there. Or bring it from the ship.

Jay George it’s not like they are venturing out from Falmouth to DRF on their own. You can see a lot in Nassau by walking and be back with plenty of time to spare. Same with St Thomas
