Honestly this has made me shed tears listening to this. I’ve noticed this people pleasing part of myself. And being denied respect for myself and my individuality. Always adapting to my environment to please others. We definitely do put on a great show. It’s pretty sad because it really is unconscious. It’s like we live a lie mostly. It definitely is a lonely aspect because growing up I always felt like even those close to me really didn’t know ME. I also have my moon in Aquarius so I’ve always felt kind of like an outcast in the inside. I’ve become more open and pretty blunt about who I am for the most part instead of hiding it or repressing my true self. I’ve definitely felt oppressed by my mom growing up. If she didn’t like “it”, it was wrong so I had to compromise myself. I still do struggle with self expression but baby steps. As a child I was told that kids are to be seen and not heard. My mother was absent and my grandmother was emotionally detached, strict, and denied any communication to me but she absolutely loved and adored my little brother. people need to realize how amazing squares are, as well as other hard aspects. i think the persons level of consciouness plays a major role in dealing with any planetary energy. i have 19 squares. just remember that hard aspects make for a strong person. i have Sun square Neptune, Uranus and Jupiter with Jupiter and Uranus square the MC. HaHa. I think the main issues with hard aspects, especially squares or just a hard chart in general is that the person can really deny thier own strength out of a lack of self acceptance. Just own it. It is your energy. Sun square Neptune can be found in the charts of some of the most artistically gifted people. This also makes a great Actor being that they can put on a facade quite well. Just love who you are and quietly disdain those who are opposed to your self love.

Yes!!! I've never been egotistical and was always shy and submissive. Since Ive woken up Ive gained a lot of self confidence and honestly now know how amazing and great I am. I was adopted when I was a baby and I think that played a huge role in why I thought so low of myself. This lead to drug use, but thankfully that drug use is the only thing that made me begin meditation.

I cried while listening to this. I have My Neptune squaring my sun at an 0.80 degree orb and I'm struggling as it is. My mom, while she was an amazing provideder, was thought by her mother to be quiet to be soft to not be a burden to others and me the Aries sun child was told this so many times my whole personality is based on being what others want me to be. It releases so many happy hormones for me to see people liking the person I am pretending to be. I am 27 now and I am in therapy now because I'm extremely sensitive to criticisms and overall people not liking me. People don't realise how crucial those younger years are. This honestly makes me never want to have kids.

Thank you for basically giving me permission to let this go👍 Personally I’m VERY hard on myself. I’m a perfectionist/constantly needing to find faults in myself. Especially hard on myself about being a victim (very judgmental to myself if I have a victim moment) to where I NEVER ask for help and I internalize almost everything. If I do open up I automatically feel the absence of being understood -even if they actually do understand. You shined a light on this consciously for me, thank you. I have this placement and its troublesome , but with inner introspection I learned that this aspect is asking you to connect to who you truly are because in a way neptune here is making ur ego fantasize about what the world would be like if you actually could be true to who you are. you can feel this placement so strongly when you are actually seen and your given attention, you start to feel nervous aware of every single comment looks body language how your ego is being evaluated fearing that you might have to oppress and disconect from who you are once more! making you prone to actually have a nervous break down and then running the risk to be seen like an actual fool! but this sensitivity doesnt come because your seen you actually fear to be judged and made feel ashamed! it comes because when you are displaying who you are you are doing with a fasad and your connecting with an image that you truly know it doesnt match the real you! out of fear to be neglected. The solution to this is to be aware that there are people who wont like what you have to offer and theres people who will you must express your truth regardless of what people gonna say because it is better to be remembered by the good and bad things that make us who we are than to be remembered by a image that even ourselves dont feel connected to. Neptune is a planet that teaches us to let go it rules the 12th house and it has the same effect when its contacting one of your planets is asking you to give your ego away to the world so you can fulfill the neptunian desires you have to let go give your truth away be vunerable open and own up to the fact that you are going to be liked and hated as well.. because we are not in this wolrd to impress other people we are here to leave our mark and fullfill our own individual lessons and there will be people who will connect to you and walk with you and there will be those who will leave you , but its normal cause you yourself chose your connections based on whether this person has a path that is worth to walking it with!. The thing with Neptune is that it creates foggyness and delusionment when you try to hold or go agaisnt its call Neptune wants you to use its power of sensitivity spirituality and its capacity of understanding the collective for the benefit of all. The powers of neptune are not meant to be used for selfish reasons are meant to be given away so you can be that icon and symbol so you can represent the collective as a whole and this is the same theme for any 12 house planet or placement. The motto of neptune is give so you can receive but it has to be genuine and from the heart or else youll face your self undoing! Oh I can commiserate lol Neptune squares my sun at 2degrees and my moon at 0 degrees (exact) AND- I’m a Pisces sun, mars and mid heaven I don’t know who the heck I am and I have struggled with addiction…but I did get my grad degree to become a therapist and do like helping ppl…I also love animals and am a certified dog trainer For me, animals are a huge coping strategy since Pisces is the most prominent sign in my chart- and the most prominent planets in my chart are Neptune and moon (I’m a cancer rising and I’m also a “full moon baby” and have sun opposition moon) It’s work! My mother has this, and even when I was a child she would accuse me of being one of the worst things in her life (with her mother and boyfriend) because we were so cruel and selfish and countless other insults I cannot even remember and wouldn't even necessarily make sense... She would just have these outbursts of "victimhood" where she would tear me to the ground. Despite her screaming and insulting me all the time, and me being a small child, SHE was the victim of me. She even convinced her therapist that I was the source of all her problems. My home so often felt like a mad house where reality and truth were completely obliterated and lost in a whirlwind of her pain and anger. this video explains so much, or rather helps me understand so much, thank you.

I just wanted to add that the reason this video helps so much is because when you are brought up in that kind of world, reality is so confusing and contradictory and insane that it is very difficult to know what has been experienced. Here is my mother screaming and swearing at me that I am terrible and abusive to her (for example). This video also helps validate my experience a little and that helps to heal.

My father has always had an extreme hair trigger temper and he suffered from ptsd and bipolar. My mom is really needy and fragile and i'm pretty sure she's a covert narcisist with bpd. I came to the videos trying to understand the recent behavior of a friend with sun/mercury inconjunct neptune, conjunct Saturn and square pluto. Wooh. Borderline behavior & lack of boundaries to say the least!! And yes there was alcohol addition in past & addiction to those WITH addiction as well. Both videos are extremely accurate. One of the hardest things I think of those with hard neptune aspects (especially to the Sun) is the deep, deep denial around drivers and behaviors things to the point that the issues get really hard to resolve in a fair and truthful way for the other person involved. Keep doing what you do, Jewel! Glad people can watch these and hopefully they help! ;)

You are brilliant. I have this square and most of what you say I have experienced. I always felt a I dont have an ego kind of thing but i never knew it was because of this square. When i have an aim i just cannot pull myself together to reach it. I have the ability and yet something stops me many times. I simply dont do things for myself that could make me or my life successful. Its really frustrating. Also with borders...i used to go after guys even when they left me and all my friends told me there is a border that you cannot cross. And i crossed. I could not feel or understand this border thing. I was needy and wanted validation desparately. I was a huge pleaser but it has changed by consciously saying yes to myself. I was feeling a lot of shame and guilt around losing my sense of self and identity in my previous relationship, I was super needy and codependent and I kinda felt like this baby that had no name. But I know that I am a good person, I know that I deserve respect and that I have goals and morals and things in life I want to accomplish, I grew up in a family with 7 siblings and my biological father left but I had a step dad that was aloof, but growing up I was taught to sacrifice for the greater good of the family especially being the middle child, I was always afraid of spending money on unnecessary things for myself since I grew up with a lot of siblings and sometimes I would just suffer myself and that’s how I got caught up in the “ victim” mentality and in relationships I chose aggressive dominant partners because I admire there sense of self and confidence and boldness and my aim was always to learn how to have that thing they had, but I kinda walked myself into the unequal power dynamic by down playing my strength and the neediness comes from me wanting to be seen so bad so desperately, because if someone sees into me and sees me then in away I exist.

💯 True. My Pisces sun square Neptune killed my life in early years - I have a very weak man as a father ( a narcissist too). He never gave me direction, leaned on me as a child for support, never noticed me, was an alcoholic with a violent temper. I grew up shy and lacking self confidence as a result. This is soooooooo fucking tru I love the fact that I am into astrology and bale to overcome all of these demons. I am s misunderstood, I get picked on, I do notice the people pleasing part of myself, naive, clueless and extremely emotional, because sometimes I dont comprehend why the world is so cruel because I'm considerate of other people's feelings and emotions. I get angry , upset , cry, run when I feel injustice being done dealing with feelings and emotions. My father wasn't around during my childhood and you're right, I've always had this sense of fantasy of who I am based off my environment and a tidy bit afraid to be my tru self. I am very self destructing, self doubtful, self disappointed when I feel like I fail others. I am very aware of what people think of me and it sucks so bad when I disappoint those whom I care about in which is a good and a bad thing. Unfortunately this aspect puts us in a battle field against anyone who is not that deep into astrology to know psychology mentally emotionally what's going on with us. With all the pain and sorrow that we go through, we are the strongest because we are able to endure what most cant and what makes us tru healers able to aid anyone that's experiences bullying , misunderstanding, pain, sorrow, evil, etc....

This is spot on accurate. i also have Neptune squaring my mercury. I have been such a timid and shy person my whole life and people were rude to me a lot in life because of how “soft” I appear and then I became to feel victimized because of how cruel the world was and it was a vicious cycle. This was painfully accurate. I have Saturn in the 1st house and I thought that’s why I was this way but this makes even more sense. I grew up with an alcoholic father and my mom was super strict and controlling always getting mad out of nowhere for not staying in line. I learned to manage my behavior and stifle my feelings (I have moon in 12th too) early on. Never quite felt like I could shine. But I do have Sun, mars and Saturn all in my 1st house in Aries on my Pisces rising. Anyways this was a great video! And I’m learning to live my truth day by day and build more confidence over time.

My sister has this aspect and she also has moon trine neptune. My natal Sun is conjunct Neptune and Moon is square Neptune. She has Sun in Libra and I have moon in Libra to add to the dependency of what others think and the importance on that. We grew up with a physically and verbally abusive alcoholic father, there was no love, no nurturing, and the severe criticism taught us that who we were was not ok. So its exactly as you said, that we were not allowed (or felt we were not allowed) to be who we were, that who we were was wrong and shameful. Both of us struggle(d) with alcoholism. After a decade of severe depression and anxiety, I started to seek freedom from suffering and found it (and myself :)) after years of self-examination and meditation. Life was not enjoyable until I started the healing process (and even that was hell at times, with lots of dark nights of the soul moments) - I am so truly grateful to be on the other side. I'm am now 35, and she is now 34. She is still struggling, and will be going back to rehab this year for the second time. I know that she is on this path for a reason, and I trust her process. I often wonder what the best way is to help her. I had thought being the example would have helped. It appears she's not ready to face reality. On a positive note, its true that whatever you look for with sincerity you will find, and that includes healing, Love, and your Self (which are really all one and the same)

Hey there @Louisa R how are you now and your sister? I have this same aspect and meditation and learning about spirituality and systems such as astrology has helped immensely. Also being married as a Libra to my square a Capricorn Sun, Leo moon (strong ego) has helped me in realizing that it’s my responsibility to take care of my ego and not escape. My biggest outbreak was discovering consciously my power, I have a Venus conjunct Pluto in scorpio and a Mars in Capricorn ascendant, moon in Cancer. I have this aspect and interestingly enough it's this aspect specifically that got me interested in astrology because it was so accurate for my childhood. I have my sun in the 12th so I feel it's a double dose of this aspect. Plus I'm a libra sun so I was beyond I people pleaser at my egos expense. I have this square almost exactly with a mere +0°22' difference (sun 17°07' aries, neptune 16°44' capricorn) and it is VERY difficult to live with. this analysis is almost spot on. my neptune is in my 10th house and my sun is in my 1st house and I can hardly ever overcome the shame and loneliness in my career. I really do tend to sacrifice myself and not get the respect I want or deserve, and no matter how aware I am of it, I do not know any different and seemingly cannot help it at all.
