do family heirlooms pay the bills? memories are digital in this day and age. Even I got rid of my grandfathers things when I started getting older. I still have the memories of him, not to mention pictures, that's all I need. Everything else would just pick up dust.
@---cr8nw6 жыл бұрын
Part of it depends on what family heirlooms you have. I have two bedroom sets worth of antique furniture, an antique globe-wernicke barrister bookcase, a Victorian loveseat, and all of my grandfather's war memorabilia from his service in WW2. I also have a lot of glass milk bottles and bottle caps from his family owned dairy farm. All of them are family heirlooms, but fairly soon I'm going to have to start making some hard choices as to what I can reasonably keep. But I don't think I'll be visiting a pawn shop to do it.

I love these videos but these comments are so toxic. Not everybody that’s selling a “family heirloom” is trying to buy drugs. It’s an old game board, not grandma’s wedding ring. To the ppl who cant grasp the idea that the man sells it for 400usd knowing it can go for up to 700usd Firstly it can be very hard to sell also the price of 700usd is because u know what you're gettign when u buy it from a store. You're more likely to get a genuine item with proof of purchase from a store. If u buy from a private person, you risk the price not being right, the item being a fake/in worse condition than stated, stolen etc Jewellers and goldsmiths work the same way, pretty straight forward

To buy something that fragile at a low cost would really be hurting the pawn shop unless they can get the right collector to reach the 700$ mark. It was also in "Fair" condition with a lot of pieces missing so it would be less sought after by collectors. Id imagine they would also need a special case to put it in to keep it from getting hurt by the elements more than it already had been.

I love to see stupid people. Let me explain a Porn shop is not paying retail price for something they have to make money from what you exchange with them. But watching this show the sheer amount of people who hear say $12,000 and think that is what will be offered is hysterical. It does anger me so many stupid people have things worth a fortune and instead of going to auction or selling online they go to a porn shop who will at best offer you 70% of its value in order to make something off it to stay open.
