No gimmicks, huge kit, double bass drum beaters etc, just the bare bones is all you need to lay down a groove & this man's grooves are top notch.👍

Totally different styles both uniquely impressive within their own rights. Bottom line: drumming is the best 🫡

Hey idk if you know this but you can appreciate an art without bashing others
@hughzapretti-boyden91878 ай бұрын
@@idalot6480 who's bashing anyone? You can teach a 5yr old to play something with double beaters in 30mins but you most definitely couldn't teach a 5yr old to play this groove in 30mins. Big difference between art & gimmicks...
@idalot64808 ай бұрын
@@hughzapretti-boyden9187 as somone who's been playing drums for quite some time now double pedals are actually VERY difficult, it's not like you can just put it down and immediately start playing it
@hughzapretti-boyden91878 ай бұрын
@@idalot6480 I didn't say that!!! Try reading my original response!! In 30mins a 5yr old could knock out a tangible beat with double beaters but a 5yr old could definitely NOT play a groove like this!!! Btw I've been playing drums for best part of 50yrs & taught drums for 20yrs.

The real heroes here are the people who recorded and mixed it. Shoutout to Lance Koehler, Josh Quarles, and Pete Min. Nate gave them the incredible drawing with flat colors, and they gave it lighting and shading. Also shoutout to Tyler Scheerschmidt for the video that lets drummers like me see what Nate's doing! Overall, incredible drumming, incredible track, incredible video.

Love everything about this video Mr. Smith, beautiful ideas of improvisation flowing out like a river .. Classic black and white, the room as a back drop and that snare drum sounds killer . .

Man! My phone was on low volume - I was sure you were playing with a bassist! Turning the volume up, it still had a faint sound of musicians backing you - I could almost hear the song you were playing/composing! This never happened to me, you're truly, TRULY, gifted! I'm a heel down drummer, do you have any tips that might help me play, say, something like D'Angelo's "Brown Sugar" bass drum part? I've only found out about you today, Nate, and I give thanks to God for you and that He directed me to you today.
