I was listening to you as I was driving. You explain things in such a way, that training techniques are really making sense to me. I have a Cane Corso, who is approx. 2 years old and no prior training. I'm wanting to give this my absolute everything. He is very, very smart.

I also love Ceasar Milan but I do agree with you as far as many people don't pay detailed attention to everything he is doing and we have to remember their is a language barrier. I believe that is why he doesn't explain in specific detail absolutely everything he is doing like you do. That is why this is not the first time I have commented on what a fantastic job I think you do at explaining everything and giving many examples. The comment that you talk too much, I don't agree. I think you do your best explaining things over and over in many different ways to make sure everyone is clear and understanding what you are teaching. You're fantastic. I appreciate all you do :)

I have a 6 month old Belgian Terv and am having issues with the "down" from the sit position. I have gone through the your steps of teaching a command and this is the only one that he won't do. He understands leash pressure with the few things I do with him but he does not respond to it for the down from the sit. I can pull down all I want and he just pulls back at me. A downward direction "pop" doesn't work. If this is in your book let me know - maybe I missed it!

Hi, I would like to know your thoughts on adaptil collar for 8 weeks old swiss shepherd puppy. I read that adaptil reduces the anxiety and helps the puppy to calm down & helps her to adjust with the new home. Also what's your opinion on feeding puppy in the crate? Thanks

It didn't work for my gr back then when he was 4mths old like the collar didn't even exist. I think the best method is to keep to your routine everyday and try building relationship with your pup early on. Also, don't talk to your pup too much because it increases his anxiety as he wouldn't understand what you're saying. It does more harm thn good. At 8 weeks old, he'll do just fine after a week. Imho.

how do you get it threw a humans head that one bite it too much! My grandson has a husky mix approx 4 yrs old and she is ver dominate towards people and children . She has bitten a child and also adults. She is real bad about protecting her owners room (my grandson) . The dog and grandson live with his mother and my daughter has a hard time letting dog out of room to go outside. My daughter is afraid of her . My grandson says they are all taking her bites out of propostion and she only does it once in awhile. I cant get it through his head one bite is too much. What advice do you have that I can give him or the whole family to help this dog to stop being aggressive. I told him shes a law suit waiting to happen or court ordered death sentence, But it is not getting through his head. Even my daughter said shes a sweet dog but unpredictable Help please!!!

Can you advise on whether or not it's safe for me to have my german shepherd protection trained while having young kids in the house? She has protection bloodlines and I believe she would be stellar at it and I would love to have her trained in this but I'm nervous this would be a danger to my little kids once she's trained?

Really just depends I'd say. Lot of factors.

@@bubbag8895 lol can you elaborate more please? Depends on what?!

It would depend on what your goals are. And what you want your dogs to do. Plus it would also depend if your dog is used to your babies. If they are around all the time then it could be a good thing. But it depends.

Its all depends on the individual dog and the training they receive.

@@bdogg20101 My goals are to have her level II protection trained. She has grown up with my kids ages 5 and 7 and is around them all day everyday (I homeschool). We have had her since she was 8 weeks. She just turned 1 year old a week ago. I worked with a trainer when she was younger so she is basic obedience trained. It may be worth mentioning, though, she is headstrong and dominant and of course because she is czech working line, she is like a racehorse ready to GO at all times lol. She's not wear outable....ever LOL. Loves to work though. She gets excited when I work with her. Snaps into commands nicely! I've been looking in my area for protection trainers but I don't really know what I'm looking for so I'm not sure what you mean by saying it depends on the training they receive. But before I pursue this I want to know if I am potentially putting my little kids in high danger having a level II protection dog as a family dog. Or if that's even possible. Hoping to hear from trainers on their thoughts and experience with this.
