Never stop showing the cows walking away at the end. It's great to see them, after expecting to still be in pain when they walk, quickly realise "Hey, that guy with the crazy contraption has fixed my hoof"😊

Why? Why am I addicted to these videos? I'm not a farmer. I've never been close to a cow, or a farm for that matter. I'm a pasty fat nerd who spends 99% of his time indoors. This could not be LESS relevant to me. And yet, these videos just... fascinate me. I suppose it's partly the knowledge that when an animal is in so much pain like the cows here, someone is there to provide comfort and healing. Keep up the good work, Nate the Hoof Guy! You got a watcher!

If I recall correctly, these can progress really quickly- even a matter of days can result in a large section of dermatitis and loose horn? Cows are prey animals so they work hard hide injuries as a survival mechanism. That’s why the regular trimming is so important. Maybe someone can correct me, though!
@Nevario13 жыл бұрын
It's hard to tell how long the cow has had a particular injury or infection since cows are considered 'prey' animals, they will hide their pain and weaknesses so they don't appear like an easy meal for a predator.
@dspadi10173 жыл бұрын
I thought the same, it looks like there’s a separation near the heel.

Here in south Texas, conditions like these are very rarely seen although a cow with a sore hoof is not utterly unusual. However, such conditions are most often treated with a general antibiotic applied in an intramuscular approach. This sort of treatment which you illustrate is much more often seen applied to horses. Thank you for this great learning opportunity. Well done.
