Same! I was eating pizza the whole time with no issues. I was pre-vet in college. For fun I used to go to necropsy discussions (animal autopsies) on Friday nights. One time they had a horse's head. Another time I went to a slaughterhouse and then lunch right after. It takes a lot to phase me. This was nothing.

*hears Nate’s warning at the beginning* This is gonna be bloody, isn’t it? Edit: not as bad as I thought, decent area of separation though. It headed nicely though To anyone still curious about the hoof, it’s a lot like your fingernail, painless to trim unless you go too deep. Nate and other cow hoof timers are a lot like horse farriers, check for problems, trim excess and make sure everything is fine and deal with any problems.

I’m so glad I accidentally found your channel tonight! I’m a lifelong Wisconsinite (Madison)! Not a farm girl but definitely have it in my genes. I really enjoyed your videos I’ve watched tonight. You don’t talk too much or joke around with your assistants all the time or play music in the background. Your voice is very gentle and your explanations are understandable. You don’t expect everyone to know what you’re doing - like me. I’m a former nurse and enjoy watching you work. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us and being so gentle with your “clients”. Lol! I do have a question - what if a cow is lame in both claws? How do you help them relieve pressure? Blocks are useless so what’s the process for healing them both?

I can watch stuff like this over a meal no problem. I wouldn't be able to handle it if I could _smell_ it over a meal though. This is why TV and movies that come with smells will totally bomb on the market. None of us want to smell this. I happen to know what pus smells like from when one of my family cats had an open, infected vaccination site cancer when I was a teenager. Yes you heard me, vaccination site cancer. It happens to cats, I'm an eye witness. Honestly I find it weird that I've never heard anti-vaxxers mention that little gem...

This Hooftrimmerguy--is a master. He's careful and moves cautiously. It's also about the bovine care, not him as a celebrity. There's another wannabe celebrity "hack-trimmer" on the video e-waves that cuts indiscriminately and the treatment of the bovine beauties is secondary. And if a cow can say "thank you", whether it is a turn and looking back or a little kicking up of the heels upon exiting the chute, that has to be rewarding for the caregiver as well.

Hi Nate! I watch your videos quite regularly :) I love the way in which you explain why what we are seeing is bad for the cow. I would LOVE, however, to see a video of you explaining how you detect problems in the hoof to begin with! Sometimes I understand after the start of your videos when you say, "the problem will be here".. but most times I don't! Especially when there are holes present in the hoof that aren't problem hooves. If you could explain more.... that would be amazing. :-) thanks!

The superb knife skills of you wonderful hoof men absolutely amaze me. Perfect precision which is actually very soothing to watch for some reason. And I do love cows. Stayed at a friend’s mother’s dairy farm decades ago and as there were so many of us, two of us decided to sleep in the car. Woke up in the morning to a huge cow audience all gawking at us through the car windows. The seemed to be fascinated by us for some reason. It was hysterically funny and not at all frightening, just a bit bizarre. They are very curious animals 😂
