They used all the North Korean State released videos, not like they went there and shoot it for us. All they shot was those few interviews. And the 2 Aunt / Uncle couple that was real "hard" to find, they didn't even show them 😅

Agreed. We always hear about the facade presented for tourists. I've seen lots of those, at this point. And the goose-stepping marches, and festivals with citizens weeping with "joy." But this was a different perspective!!! To me, the brother -- and especially the terrifying sister -- were the most surprising bits.

I wonder, if that young lady put the oil with the poisonous nerve agent on her hands, how come she did not die? In the video it looks like she (and maybe that other young lady, that is not clear) rubbed that oil on Kim Jong Nam's face standing behind him, and about 20 minutes later he died.

Did anyone notice @ 21:50 when one girl was not crying and cheering for Kim Jong Un while the rest of the kids were? He noticed and approached this little girl and even sat beside her. Genuinely worried for her and family. when North Koreans clap for their leader, they’re not clapping because they like him, or support him. They’re clapping for their lives.

I don"t think she has fear. She is maybe so brainwashed that she believes to have a living god in front of her. Approaching him is the most cherished desire of north Koreans, as kids there are not aware of the outside world and life style. The personality cult is obvious for us, not for them.

I'll always remember a interview with a ex North Korean army soldier. When he came to the U.S. and went to a grocery store he couldn't believe it he thought it had to be propaganda. Then he had them stop at another random store. He cried saying it was real because there's no way of guessing he whould stop twice. He was just in awe. Very sad tbh.

@condorX2
@condorX2 2 жыл бұрын
Same here. I learned a few things. When i saw the news by those so call western medias, it only show the killing part. They never mention about the CIA regime change part. If you think about it, the CIA was responsible for Kim half brother death. I got curious and look up famous operations by the CIA. It seem they're well known for putting ruthless dictators on the throne. The most infamous episodes include the ousting of Iranian Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadegh in 1953 - whose government was replaced by an authoritarian monarchy favorable to Washington - the removal and assassination of Congolese leader Patrice Lumumba in 1961, and the violent toppling of socialist Chilean President Salvador Allende, whose government was swept aside in 1973 by a military coup led by the ruthless Gen. Augusto Pinochet. (American dad made a episode on this one with the dancing dictator?) CIA involvement in coup 1965 is one great example on how the west took sides by supplying weapons, made propaganda and indirectly killed more than 3 million innocent lives. Their strategy is based on "divide and conquer". This document was declassified by CIA because many activists around the globe condemn the war crimes of US and their allies. Not only that, CIA overthrew the legit president of indonesia and replaced it with a corrupt Suharto who supported the US. That's how US mining company 'freeport' got hold of indonesian biggest gold mine. In 1954, Washington unseated Guatemala's left-wing president, Jacobo Arbenz, who had had the temerity to challenge the vast control of the United Fruit Co., a U.S. corporation, with agrarian laws that would be fairer to Guatemalan farmers. The CIA went on to install and back a series of right-wing dictatorships that brutalized the impoverished nation for almost half a century. CIA always worked with NED. (National Endowment for Democracy). They always try to destabilize any country with different ideology. All started way back after the end of world war 2, the cold war started. US sees other ideology as dangerous and feel the need to bring democracy to all countries, so in other words, every US presidents starting from harry s truman are all involved. Believing democracy as a perfect system that all countries MUST adopt. This made US act aggressively and invade nations with different ideology, creating wars and chaos around the globe. --F Liu

I highly recommend the book "Kim Jong Un" by Anna Fifield, who can also be seen in this documentary at 5:21. Anyone who wants to learn about how the Kim family established and built their dynasty will find it interesting. It also gives a look into the life of the average North Korean citizen, as she has interviewed many citizens, who have fled the country and were able to speak freely.

It is deplorable to see the positive tone of the presentation of the material, given how people live in this country. Power built on rivers of blood, pain, destroyed/broken lives... Look at the video of people who shot there not openly. Amazing is the positive tone of propaganda from Nat Geo, an attempt to change the minds of people in the western world/USA through such a pathetic semblance of "documentary" material.

36:51 The Korean War never officially ended in 1953. North and South Korea signed an armistice, establishing a truce over 70 years ago. This armistice created the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), the most heavily armed area in the world. It's important to note that a truce is not the same as a formal end to war. This person is misleading the public by falsely stating that the Korean War ended in 1953.

Bruh, don't preach. Do you know the atrocities we have committed? Here's a question, what would the country be like without an iron rule? It'd have collapsed under the weight of generations of foreign pressure, being no better than Iraq, Afghanistan, lybia, Yemen and so on. There are many examples of governments who capitulated, none for the better. There is such a thing as the lesser of two evils. They'll get there, eventually.

I know it will be a surprise yet it will bring some much info, education, facts, food and beyond. @@RedxRiot Thats not true. You could lose your job, and your whole livelihood based on your comment. And you coukd lose your social media access based on what your stand on a certain issue. You'd be censored. This has happened thousands of Americans, and in your neighbor Canada they went further abd froze bank accounts of the protesters. You guys a simple protest on Jan 2020 an insurection and had jailed many peaceful protesters. Now compare that to democracy protests West supported in Hong Kong, they looted the whole parliament, yet American media said violent was worth the freedom. In places like China and Russia you are free as long as you abide by existing laws, unlike in US where you could lose your job for a comment, political stand, which are rights granted by the law. Freedom in US is just an illusion. Why do you think US continue to censor all those Russian outlets. Dont you have a right to freedom of information, freedom of choice, freedom of consceince i dont think so.
