I like when he "They're not scary. They've done scary things, but they deserve homes and they deserve good home." Truer words were never spoken. Soldiers have also done 'scary things', so dogs should be treated the same as soldiers...like heros.

theRFPbros First he woke me up with his growling and i found he had jump on the kitchen counter.Place himself in front of the window making this creepy low growl. I realise a man was trying to get through my window at 2-3am ...Second time, i was in this small elevator with my dog. This HUGE guy cut in front of me to get in the elevator and smell like he bath in alcohol stood behind me . I tries to ignore him but notice he was quietly sneaking closer to me. The second time in glance discretely, i realize his hand was about to touch my hair. I swear my heart stop , just as he was millimeter from touching my hair. I heard this low scary growl and realize it was my dog (never bark.growl before those 2 incident). My dog started snaps his jaw in a threatening way to make the guy back up in the corner and hold him in place till we got to my floor which is the 10th floor. My dog held him in place till i walked out. ONCE i was out, he slowly back up to my side keeping eye contact with him....till the door shut. Then acted like nothing happen wagging tail. I spoiled him with steak those 2 week. :) Never trained him, he just knew what to do when i was in distress :)

Karen Maxwell even with a dog bought from a breeder, the door threshold can become a "thing". It's important not to make the door threshold a big deal. With greetings, and jump ups, and pets. That leads to the dog getting anxious at the threshold, it holds importance, so you have to struggle to keep him from bolting, from being overly aggressive to guests at the door. And this would apply triply to a dog brought home from war service. You want the dog to feel at ease in it's own home, to trust the ones in charge of the territory. If the humans make a big deal of the door threshold, it becomes a bad thing.
