I think the craziest thing about elephants is the fact that they never forget anything. Ever. Scientists don't understand how they can remember every single thing. As crazy as that sounds, it's like a human being remembering everything that has ever happened to them, every word they have ever spoken every thought they have ever had from birth. You can dig a hole in the ground, let's say 2 ft Deep by 2 ft wide and ride on the elephant or lead him toward the direction of the whole. When he comes to the whole you step over it, he will go around it. Immediately after he steps Over the Hole, take it and feel it in pack it down put leaves over top of it and go on about your day. A year later, take him on the same path and when he gets to that spot he will walk around it. It doesn't matter if grass is grown up over the area or something else. The elephant will go around instead of stepping on it

Great storytelling in every milli second! I love how the creator built the tension within the story, the camera angles connecting the eyes of the Don and his perspective, and even combined the shots inside the truck! The drone shots were beautifully done too. I love the fact that the truck driver was not upset. He was even calm and kind to them.

The route is very famous in Thailand. There usually a family of elephant waiting for 10 of trucks to deliver their tolls. It's so famous that people just go there to see them eating the sugar cane. And don't worry about their safety, there are park ranger controlling the traffics and make sure the trucks don't idel too long and elephants are out of harms way when they get going.

First of all I want to thank you for such a wonderful series on elephants. I must say that it's the best series I have ever watched on any fauna. I got tears in my eyes watching Episode on desert elephants. It was such a pleasure to gather tones of information about the giants eg. the way elephants successfully climb down the mountain, avoided flash floods in the desert, the toll collector, successfully adjusting to live near human settlements etc. are few of the best examples. It pays to watch a video entirely because this had me wondering, "couldn't they just drive around them, or honk to scare them away?" 🤨 Then when the commenter mentioned that the elephants raid the sugar cane fields, it makes more sense to just pay your "tolls" to keep them out! 😅

Too dangerous to drive around or worse honking. Normally if you found elephants crossing the road in some jungle area in Thailand . You must turn off the engine ., park the car at least100 meter away (if you have smaller car ) and be as quiet as possible . Then wait the elephants to cross the road.

@@danc.8770Not really possible to turn back anyway . in Khoa Yai where you would find the elephants(lots of them at the same time)crossing the road . The congestion of Traffic sometimes make it impossible to back the cars . Just run away without car if that happened

Thai people really respect elephants because they were WAR ELEPHANTS in the old times. They fought together along with our kings. (Only Thai kings (and generals) can ride the war elephants).
