It's about lack of profit w situations like this but thankful they don't unalive wild animals, they can then live carefree w their own. It's domesticated animals who lose their owners after being w them their whole lives that's really heartbreaking. The domesticated animal has been abandoned. Their owner's reasons don't matter to the animal. It's esp sad when they're seniors

Sadly, some of the elephants used in the logging industry are drugged so they will work longer hours. As humans, we domesticated certain species for our own benefit. These animals did not ask to be domesticated. We owe them the best treatment and respect. Not exploitation, neglect and abuse. God bless those who rescue and care for them. Keep up the good work.

I wouldn’t call the owner “precious .” He is just disposing of an animal that is of no use to him anymore. He will get more elephants and do the same. Thankfully she is in a place where she can heal from a life of trauma.

I guess these are just bots. Seriously. "Dok Koon was employed in the logging industry, and tragically, during this time, a log slipped from the chains and rolled onto her leg, breaking her ankle. Despite her injury, she was then moved into the elephant riding industry to service tourists. Upon receiving information about her dire condition, our founder Lek Chailert and the team immediately mobilized to release her from her suffering."

Your comment reminded me of the KZbin channel Takis Shelter, in Greece. He rescues animals, mostly dogs, but he also rescues cats, goats, birds, etc. It's amazing to see the positive transformations the animals he saves make once they enter his shelter, and receive love, care, food, shelter, safety, and security with Takis, his volunteers, and all the other animal friends they make while there. The sad part is, though, is that he has SO MANY dogs, and not enough adopters. I think this channel and Takis Shelter are my two favorite channels on KZbin, for the wonderful and selfless work they all do to rescue, protect, and care for all these magnificent animals. ❤

I had a colleague who was going on holiday to that neck of the woods and I asked her not to ride elephants when she was in Thailand - she rudely told me to mind my own business. That is a sad testament to the "entitled" tourist types that go to these places and I am sure I have seen videos from ENP where tourists torment the Ellie's as they ride down the river. Selfish gits the lot of them! 😡💔🏴
