Just for a few days on vacation. I guess you will like it there. I would miss the ocean and taking a dip. Or even surfing. (Took two hour lesson on Maui once) But, living myself just half a mile from the North Sea, I have not put any saltwater on my skin in over 20 years! When we had a vacation home before in the area that time we tooks swims. But now that is available (40F !) close by I don't. Lesson from life: Appreciate what is close by so you don't regret not having it when it's gone.

I love how little by little I continue to hear about the places you’ve been to with your comments throughout these years. I’m sure you have amazing stories/memories to tell! I see we will have a lake nearby🙌🏼😅

Did you soak the husks in water first ? Kudos to you .. I’ve only made tamales by myself only once in my lifetime.. lol 😅 Growing up , my parents did tamales for New Year’s Eve .. we had a “production line “ going .. I also don’t like a lot of masa in my tamales.🫔 Now, it’s so much easier to buy tamales from my local bakery.

I did soak them! Just about over night. And wow! Just once Julie!? But you’re right, purchasing local is much more convenient. Here in Hawaii they go for $20 half the dozen, or $35 the dozen.

@ Yikes .. that’s pricey .. I get them for about $14 for a dozen .. Or free from my cousin. Even in Phoenix Arizona they are about $15 a dozen .
