@@dahhous1575 that's fair. I like that its a cop drama about the day to day rather than the glamorious murder cases. It's interesting to me to see a cop show about being a patrol officer rather than just a detective show.

@LethalLuggage I enjoy the hell out of the Rookie. I like it more than other police procedural crime drama television series. It doesn't take itself too seriously. And although it covers the investigative procedure it focuses much more on its characters than other police shows, which I really like. And you start at the ground level, at the beginning as rookies (well 3 of the main characters) rather than have them all be detectives or higher ranks. I usually find police shows boring and shallow, to be honest, or at least no such show really stuck with me until the Rookie.
@AbsentWithoutLeaving Жыл бұрын

As much as a fan can have an impression of the true character of a person, Nathan and I are not friends, we will never be friends, I will probably never get a chance to meet or see him while not on camera or stage. As such, my gut reaction is either Nathan is best actor on the planet or this is who he is. He appears to be a kind, joyful, and importantly aware of the great gift being actor can be. I am not disregarding the effort, skill, and fortitude it takes to become an actor. But, Nathan understands he has probably the best job on the planet. He gets to play make believe and entertain people.

That "If you do say so yourself" at 42:30 and the look he gave as Micahel just...didn't react at all---had me in stitches. xDD I love Nathan so much.

Sacrifice? Look, I'm not going to say actors are lazy, but people everywhere work 60-70 hours a week just to earn 30-40k/year. Let's not get out of control about how actors are "giving up their lives."

You have no idea how hard actors work. Stop being jealous of people who succeed . There's a reason they make big money. Anyone can do the 30-40k job it's why it doesn't pay much.
@mikekillagreen9432Ай бұрын
Most actors make way less than 40k. And have side jobs to survive

Agreed. Nathan is freaking brilliant. So very many awesome roles, yeah too many to mention, but I became a big fan during Firefly and of course BTVS... Was reminded recently of the good old web series Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog too - he's just too good!

I hadn't realized that you had a podcast. Michael, your portrayal of Lex Luthor is perhaps my favorite, if second only to the great Gene Hackman. Although I feel that the characters were written so differently between the movies and the show, that they can be enjoyed very differently. I'm so glad I found this episode in particular to view as my first. Nathan Fillion is one of my favorite actors to watch. I have been following him since he was on Two Guys, A Girl, and a Pizza Place.
