Pretty much all of Ted’s panic attacks are brought on by family stuff, particularly involving his son. Like in the first series when he had to sign his divorce papers (which could mean he’d see his kid even less than he does now when in a different country) and this episode when he got the phone call, and even though it was just that he’d forgotten his lunch money, Ted couldn’t do anything about it because he’s in England

It also seems to happen whenever his professional life is going well, but his family life is not. As if he feels guilty or that his success comes at a cost he is afraid to pay? I dunno, just spitballing.

Fun fact: Phil Dunster (Jamie) actually made that shot, it wasn't edited :) the cast said their enthusiasm was real when they started jumping and screaming around him (though their reactions were inspired by how real life players celebrate, for example Colin grabbing Jamie's chin was copied from a rl footballer - can't remember the name tho 😂).

A lot of the time panic attacks just happen outta nowhere with no specific triggers. Thats a big reason why they suck so much

As someone who has been getting panic attacks regularly for years, they can come out of nowhere. Some have obvious triggers, some just manifest underlaying anxiety, insecurities and fears. They do severely suck though, even when you know they aren't actually gonna kill you.

Anxiety attacks don't make sense, they happen out of nowhere. Random intrusive thoughts at the worst times. Especially in a social setting. I'd go into more detail if I wanted to reveal more about myself, but I'm like Ted in that regard...but he nails the feeling.

panic attacks often seems to pop up from nowhere, maybe the trigger is something absolòutely no related, or is just anxiety, or god knows, but it's always unexpected

Think back to Season 1. They set up a Sam/Rebecca link WAY back then. Sam compliments her appearance several times. Sam is also the one who talks her into going to the curse breaking when all she wanted was for the team to lose.

Oh panic attacks don't need to be triggered by anything. They're just part of a disorder. They happen whenever and they can last for days. I have panic attacks very rarely and it's happened before that I went to bed totally normal and woke up in the middle of the night because I felt a panic attack coming on. Apparently it's pretty common for people to get them in their sleep. There doesn't need to be a trigger

During the game the panic attacks are partly triggered with the rough play on Jaime. The fuel is there with the stress about his son (and there’s a strong association between Jaime and Henry for Ted. Partly why you hear Henry’s voice from when he met Jaime.)

What triggered Ted was the earlier call from his sons school. Realising he’s unable to be a parent. It came out during the game. Love Rebecca’s call to Teds answer phone ! Concern but gave him an excuse to call her to give her a pep talk about her mother.
