Agreed. Sometimes bands like them sound great in studios but don’t pull it off well live. They are not one of those bands. In fact, the opposite is true. They sound better live. As an aside.. back in 2017 when U2 did their 30th anniversary tour for Joshua Tree, Mumford & Sons opened for them on the first leg down the American West Coast. Since it was in Seattle, Eddie Vedder came to the show also. So during the finale it was U2, Mumford & Sons, and Eddie Vedder. Or to put that another way… 3 of my personal Top 15 favorite artists/acts ever sharing one stage at the same time. It was incredible.

⁠@@swan-oq8qkthe best thing about this song for me is that this was playing as I got the news of my grandad passing who I cared for 2022-2023 with no caring experience and I had always been into mma and the last conversation I had with him was about just committing to something and seeing it through. The day he died this song was playing and I knew I had 2 choices either turn it into a positive or go off the rails and I chose to turn into a positive and went and started to train the same day he died and eventually went onto win my first fight dominantly

For me, I always took it as present you talking to little you. “It’s not your fault but mine”, as in there was nothing you could have done then, but it is my responsibility to do it now. Honestly I’ve never looked it up (too much of a touchy subject for me), but that’s how I always read it!

I love this band so much it was the first one I ever really fell in love with… this was one of the first songs I learned on guitar😭. Even if not a persons cup of tea, it’s hard to doubt they’re talented. Also some bands are better live and I think Mumford is one of those. The energy is everything
