Neil Diamond is the king of ballads and love songs. #Forever in Blue Jeans was written by Neil Diamond and his lead guitarist (back then) Richard Bennett. Released in 1977 or '78. Neil Diamond has a catalog of music going back to 1966. His career lasted 50+ years until he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2018. He had to cancel the remaining part of his 50th Anniversary World Tour. This was the second time he had to cancel touring in his career. Neil Diamond has such a huge catalogue to choose from... His sixties and seventies output was great of course, but I also love the albums he made in the latter stage of his career, starting with the underrated Tennessee Moon album, and continuing with 12 Songs, Home Before Dark and Melody Road. With these albums, he proved he could still write deep, meaningful songs.

It's a metaphor about money in a sense. Money is people wearing suits, he would rather live life in blue jeans which rich people (back then) look at as poor people. Plus a love about a girl who's the same as him. Simplicity in life.
