So true. I remember him talking about that in his interview and bringing that up in conversations about how hard it is to be a working (journeyman) musician. The success he's having now couldn't happen to a better guy.

I'm amazed by their soulful voices mixed with that blend of jazz and southern rock. I dig it man!! Going to look for their stuff on vinyl. At the hospital for our first child. For better or worse SOB was the first song Finleigh Rose heard. Lol she is enjoying the rest of this performance as I type. Pure awesomeness

I absolutely love the mini-interviews between songs... it gives the songs so much more depth than they already possess. There are songs within this piece that I have never heard that are now favorites. He displays a wider range of his voice not otherwise heard in some of the other (more popular or well known) songs he has written. I absolutely love this, it is a beautiful treat. PS I met him 1/8/2016 walking alone near Paramount downtown Denver, I was so thrilled.

Nathaniel Rateliff is one of those "once in a generation" song writers we can all learn from. All us musicians make music, but how many of us feel it? Especially when you have been at it for years, it becomes easy to "go through the motions". Recordings like this remind us why we make music.
