I’m paying $1600/month for a studio apartment - and that’s only because my initial contract guaranteed static rent payments for the first 4 yearly renewals. The same floor plan elsewhere in my building is around $1750/month right now. That’s $22,750 for year 1 when moving into a 650 sq foot L-shaped studio with first, last, & security ($5,250) up front + a requirement that your monthly income is at least 3x the rent - which is a bit more than $30/hour, if you don’t consider tax deductions. Gas prices are through the roof (just like everywhere else), inflation is running rampant, food prices have skyrocketed, etc. At least you have socialized healthcare. The cover band I sing in does this song and we all love it. It's every bit as much fun to sing as the video is to watch. It's not often that you find a vocal that you can just blast out like that. Every rehearsal there are three or four songs we have to play even if they don't need work. This is probably at the top of the list right now. An absolute adrenalin rush every time. I just wish I could find a fish bowl big enough to wear on my head when I'm on stage. The audience probably wouldn't know what the hell I was doing but the band would and that would make all the strange looks worthwhile.

S.O.B. was what we first all heard, I think, and feel in love with. But I think, much as I like that one, this song is the better song. I absolutely love it. Patrick cracks me up. He's a weird dude, but in a very amusing way. I love how much is happening in this video, you see something new every time you watch it. Lastly? Fantastic old person makeup! It is my understanding that good/believable old person makeup is actually a really hard thing to pull off, so I think that is something that needs a shout out.

I played this in my 1953 Willy’s jeep with our modern sound system I put in, love the old car, but gotta have this masterpiece playing, and just driving through our bright downtown area at night when all the lights are on everywhere, but it’s completely quiet and no one’s out, it’s such trip.

I'm so sorry for your loss. You mentioned in your comment what it is about; for me, I was once young in an old person's game... then I chose a different career and now I'm old in a young person's game... but music is an art, something that 2 different people might have 2 differing views on the same piece.

A pretty nice evolution of Booker T's Time is tight! I think great music is when talented people take inspiration from other talented people and create something completely new! Saying that its new doesnt mean it doesnt came from somewhere before. All ideas come from somewhere, but its what you make of it that determines if it holds value or not

CHILDREN of all ages ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS VIDEO/SONG. Secondly: When it came out, many ppl, including myself, thought it was an old song that had popped up on the radio or something and went hunting for it thinking .... "wait that sounds sort of familiar.... but I really don't remember it ..wait could it be a new song? nah.. but it must be...." They just did a great job of hitting that retro sound. U could pop this song back into... the late 70's or maybe early 60's?

I wish this song came out my senior year of high school instead of “We Are Young” by Fun. It would have been much more memorable. It would have perfectly fit my group of friends and our style of camaraderie and friendship back then in the good ol’ days. It even has a Mumford and Sons vibe to it that we listened to a lot while playing basketball, snowboarding, partying and chilling haha.
