He among a small handful of others, saved our generation from being nothing more than just pathetic creatively as far as music goes. You can’t just take other peoples genius remix it put a dance track in the background and call it yours! Mumford & Sons with soul and that raspy blues that is him, restores a little faith! Lol before anybody bites my head off, if I’m part of the generation, I can talk shit about it! lmao We’re unfortunately for me definitely no 70’s but thank God there are artists like him or we’d be remembered in history for Night at the Roxbury… Lmfao

Having seen Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweets in Louisville, KY a few years back Nathaniel attempted to speak out about the children caught up in school shootings that are affecting our nation, but stumbled over his words and moved on to the next song. When I hear this song think to what he was trying to say. When I hear this song I hear a man of deep emotion feeling helpless he can't stop what needs to end. I hear a man confused why more isn't being done by all of us who share the pain against madness but do nothing. I hear a man torn inside that all he can do is raise his voice. A very powerful song and a testament to the love that resides in Nathaniel's mind and soul. The song is beautiful because it's true. The song is true because it's beautiful. Godspeed Nathaniel.

I can take the pain But I can't take all the hatred Laziness of mind and Simplest of thoughts Are you just too old Or too young to carry? Time stands in a duel And I stand for you Now you're pouring out your hate At every difference you found You won't even listen To reason at all Not questioning your faith Far be it from me But you would speak of love while Tying ones hands Are you just too old Or too young to carry?
