I agree. Except I personally really despise the broodals, I would've just preferred the koopalings as mini bosses, and on the dark side boss rush. The broodals were so random and unexpected. But that's just my opinion. But the story in Odyssey is better and makes more sense since Bowser actually wants to marry Peach rather than just kidnapping her for no reason like in most Mario games.

Pam Hunstrom Mario odyssey is super repetitive, easy, and the story is just so weak- even for a Mario game. The core mechanics just aren’t that great, you literally capture an enemy once just to reach a point the devs intended you to use the capture for and that’s it. No capture is useful and is just there for a split second. And the environments are just so forgettable, dull, small and bland. And the whole point of the game is literally find moons, it’s just a BOTW find Korok but for the main quest. The only thing I actually enjoyed from this game is the costumes and the movement mechanics. Wish they could incorporate Mario throwing Cappy to bounce on it in more games, but without all that capture nonsense. Bosses also suck and are probably the most forgettable and easiest, all with that “three hit to kill” ideal.

I agree with you Jack. NB is literally the only Mario games KZbinr I even follow anymore. Where he angers me by putting sunshine over the galaxies he makes up for when he said the most truthful thing ever. "Mario Bros DS is actually good". I was expecting the Wii version or Wii u or for u to put the OG Mario bros one here. But he actually does his homework and knows the Mario bros DS is the goat of the next gen bros for its time. Thanks to NB for more great ORIGINAL content.

I would argue that NSMB Wii is still a good game and totally worth to play. Although it isn't as innovative as the ds one, it included some very original powerups (penguin, the helicopter, the ice flower). Although flawed, the coop was very fun and better than previous coops in the series. It also brought back cool mechanics from SMB 3, like the powerup storage and the overworld fights.

I like how in odyssey after you beat the storyline you can go back and replay the bosses at a more challenging way. It’s kinda like Nintendo knew the boss battles were easy so the wanted to make it harder for the skilled players

For me my favorite Mario game has and always will be Super Mario Galaxy! Given it may be because Galaxy was MY Mario game that I grew up with and I haven't played Galaxy 2, but I just love everything Galaxy does. The Gravity mechanics and level design is so much fun and I feel like they perfectly balance the openness of Mario 64 and Sunshine with the linearity of the 2D games. Then you have the atmosphere and music which just feel so epic and incredible to experience. That game easily has some of, if not, THE BEST Mario and Nintendo music ever! Not to mention Rosalina's backstory which is one of the first times a video game has ever made me cry. But I just love Super Mario Galaxy so much!

I hear people have been recently trashing on 3d world and I'm genuinely confused! It to me is one of finest crafted Mario games that everyone should play at least once. They rarely followed the world theme just so they could focus on level design, the post game was absolutely fantastic, and had some of the best post game levels I've seen in a Mario game. This is just my opinion, but a polished Mario game with 5 chatacters, competetive yet enjoyable co-op, so much replayability, and a mix of fantastic power ups deserves more love then it gets.

Man when I first got to the mushroom Kingdom in odyssey and heard that iconic castle music from 64 but remastered it literally made me so happy and nostalgic.. one of the best moments from the game imo 😍

Honestly, 3d world has been my favorite Mario game for years. I played it pretty religiously when it came out on Wii U, but when my Wii U stopped charging 😢 I didn’t play it for years. Got it on switch this year and must say it holds up incredibly well, I enjoyed every second of completing that game. And bowsers fury makes it even better!
