Sadia's words on diet culture are so potent. It's very easy to allow toxicity to enter different aspects of our life, but we must protect our approach to food and nutrition from that at all costs since it is quite literally what sustains and nourishes us. To think, that many people who contribute to toxic diet culture would consider all the food you ate today unhealthy because they so heavily vilify carbs- which are the brain's fuel source! Sadia's approach is amazing and she is an important voice on social media- especially with plant based eating sometimes reaching these aforementioned levels of toxicity.

You have to remember though that carbs arent the only "fuel source" for the brain. And while being afraid of them surely isn't helpful in any way, they have often shown to be the source of a lot of harm. Depends on where you get them from among other things of course but unlike fats, carbs deserve their kind of bad reputation in a lot of cases.

I think that's how it should be too, people are so worried about one another not being like themselves and people get caught up in a lot of nonsense. We should just enjoy our time here and not worry about such little things, life has a lot more to it, and there are plenty of diets and ways of eating that are healthy which are also person-dependent. So yeah I completely agree

But Sadia has helped me find way to add more vegetables and things in my lifestyle and learn more. What I also love about her is that she doesn't judge she just supports and wants people to learn something. Her channel brings me comfort and makes me love food and not feel judged for what I eat.

I think my favourite part of this video was that the simple steps to eating better were less about what foods to eat and not eat, but were more about how to approach food and eating as a whole. Of course Sadia did walk us through food groups and how to have a balanced meal but I definitely think the way she pushed away the culture that the diet industry has developed (e.g. by avoiding terms like 'superfood' and 'toxin'), as well as her compassion (i.e. telling Nathaniel to not be judgmental of himself even when we all know he could do better than eating canned ravioli) are also major takeaways that shouldn't be overlooked.
