Brilliant, Nathan! I've been searching for a decent midi slider controller for automation, and you alerted me that the best one was under my nose already on my ipad mini and phone. I knew about Logic Remote, but didn't know that I could use it to automate plugin parameters. Thank you so much! (esp. from someone on the road often)

Nathan, do you know if there must be an actual internet connection to sync the phone to logic without plugging in your phone? I use logic for tracks during live performance and the behringer x air for in ears. My phone and Mac are always connected to the wifi that the behringer puts out so we can mix ears via Mac or iPhone but I would love to use this to start and stop the tracks so I don’t have to run to the computer to do that. Same wifi but without an internet connection, will it work?

My problem is that it just never works. I do a lot of recording at the piano, the idea of having a remote controller is very attractive as it's a bit of a pain having laptop / audio interface on piano. A remote control would let me keep all that stuff together at other side of the room. When it works it's fine. The problem is that it always disconnects and then won't reconnect with mac. Both are on the same WiFi, and WiFi works fine on both devices, but logic remote has *never* remained linked to logic pro X for more than 5 mins. I have never been able to record a piano track with logic remote, and every recording session just turns into me messing around with ipad / mac trying to get them to connect. Works fine if you connect with a cable, but the reason I like the idea of a remote control is to reduce the number of cables hanging around. I really want a wireless remote. I've tried everything but in my experience it just won't work.

So if I have my hardware instruments being controlled by my midi keyboard/sequencer and I load it up into a template I have saved in Logic on my computer, I can then continue to use my midi keyboard to control my hardware in Logic Remote on my iPhone? 👀 Damn I really wish I saw this video and others a few years back when Logic Remote became a thing because I’m only just now trying to integrate it into my workflow and it seems so useful (more so than I thought it would be tbh lol), especially since all my hardware instruments and midi keyboard aren’t in close reach of my desk where my computer is. Also because I have a bunch of random synth/drum machine apps on my phone and I’ve been making it way harder for myself than necessary to try and get anything from my phone into Logic Pro lol.

@markmanter65085 ай бұрын
I’m not sure if Logic Remote can integrate into Garage Band but I know there is a separate Garage Band mobile app for iPhone/iPad that while limited to a degree, can get the job done for certain things…and I’m fairly certain that you can work in Garage Band mobile and then later send the project over to your computer to work in Logic Pro…if you have it, that is.

@NathanJamesLarsen3 жыл бұрын
Fader is pretty much always gonna automate volume. When you turn latch on - you need to adjust the actual parameters for that effect. So if you want to automate EQ then you need to be using the EQ parameters on latch the automate that specific parameter - hope that makes sense!
