Having two NG3 and full Darkglass gear around them, I predict this bass will be more expensive than them all put together. Unobtainium for the average person. Pretty though

I ilike it, but the pricetag is almost 4k $/€. I get the electronic features and build quality are super cool and it's a Mayones...still. Maybe if they release a 6 string for a comparable price I start saving up.

@@andrewneehall5664 mayones splits the difference between a 5k-7k custom shop fender/esp and a standard off the rack factory built $1500 $2k guitar. I know the sticker shock is real but the attention to detail, wood selection, craftsmanship is unmatched at their price. If it's not worth the price to you the consumer that's fair get something else. These are boutique instruments and are going to have a higher price.

@@noahbrewer2476 have you owned a Dingwall? I've had a few Canadians and imports. The one that stayed with me is my import DROC. And honestly the best 37 inch multi-scale right out the box I ever played was the LTD B1005MS Back when they were 1200 1300usd new. The second best sounding and playing multi-scale was a kiesel jazz. If we want to talk price point value to be honest if Mayones is coming in at 50-60% the cost of a Canadian Dingwall there's grounds for debate that it may be a better value.

Agreed. The copied Dingwall and sort of Padalka (although Padalka are a lot nicer). Fun fact, Padalka is now employed by Dingwall and working on their Master Series out of Saskatoon!

This is IMO more feature packed then any bass on the market. Built in headphone jack?!? Rechargeable battery?!?! And a P4 pickup that let's you use many brands. This is a crazy instrument and I love it. Y'all act like there hasn't been over a dozen other brands with a 37-35" multi scale for the past 10yrs.

@@rl-ub9hx There's tons of tiny headphone amps now on the market that also have other features like tuners or drum machines, and don't have to sit in the body cavity. Changing pickups is one advantage, but I don't see the point when the original bass is that expensive. I do really like the look though. The orange finish in particular looks really great.

@@CHEWYCHEWYQQ yeah I use a boss katana go and mustang micro before that. But I do like the thought that in a pinch you didn't need anything but the bass. I would have loved to have seen Bluetooth aux instead. As far as pickups go it doesn't matter to me how expensive I picked up is they all have different voices some kill it in one genres but disappear in another. I have bass that are for rock and metal and others for R&B

Mayones made a little bit of better Dingwall than Dingwall. The specs I prefer this bass better than dingwall are the stainless steel frets and the pickup rotary shows the positions. I love my Dingwall NG but these are the two things I think are better about this bass. So I'd like to try one but I wouldn't replace my dingwall just for that reason.

Imitating a scale length is not blatantly copying Dingwall. 34" is copied from Fender?. Pickup configuration too, the jazz bass standard created by Fender? Mayones here made a new body that looks and probably feels different, much like brands creating the Super Strats after Fender

That sounds fair enough, but it might be the case that the small size and tapering shape of the headstock was to minimize its tipping-moment on that long of a neck, especially without also making the body heavier, which can be inconvenient.
