Nathan, you’re an excellent instructor and your content is fantastic! You may have something on this, but any more examples on working with joining/manipulating/visualizing data from similar Excel input files but with varying extent of data would be much appreciated. For example, same basic Excel tab structure across input files but within which the data tabs for certain of the Input files may have more volume or series, e.g, tenant info by suite for different type & size of properties, where there is a single standardized Excel data input file per property.

Hi is there a way for Alteryx to copy the previous table format? I'm merging two excel files which contains hyperlinks and text formating but Alteryx is converting it to flat non table file after processing

Use the tools on the Reporting palette, specifically the Table tool, which will allow you to format the data.

hi, i have to merge files, but the date for each file is on the heading of the file. How can I extract the date and add it to a column on the right, to know which file the values come from? Thanks!

But i think if you can post some tips at times it would be great, such as reading several excel files with same format in one go to union? or reading only 1 excel file with multiple sheets in just 1 go to union them, some use cases of dynamic tools in developer palette... this kind of short but useful tips would be very helpful.

Can't you re-order from within the Join tool?

Great question Chris. Yes, you can reorder the columns within the Join Tool. You can also rename the fields and change the type/size. Lastly, you can unselect a field you don't want to pass along the workflow.
