I think the guy you encountered on Scafell going up with a little round tent just illustrates that there are people who watch KZbin videos and think they can go up mountains easily. You are a pro, you are experienced and no what you are doing. You make it look so easy. 8 people a year die on Yr Wyddfa and its similar on other mountains with hundreds more rescues because of inexperienced macho men. To achieve what you have is very difficult and the average person would struggle to get half way just up scafell pike. Great video absolutely loved watching it with my clapped out knees.

I worry about the messaging that comes from everyone on KZbin focussing too much on how lightweight they can go on trips. The West Highland Way is an example, pretty much everyone who's done it has a video of how they managed it with such a light pack. That might be fine and well 75% of the time but when the clag & driven rain close in on you at the top of the Devil's Staircase on the Rannoch Moor it doesn't care what time of year it is, it's still a very dangerous place to be. People die in the mountains all year round, taking the minimum gear necessary is a dangerous mindset to have.
