I mean, you probably don't need a rule to get most performers to refrain from drinking. This isn't a rock concert. I'd wager most performers doing the anthem aren't into self-destruction. That's why most times it goes off without a hitch. This chick just has a problem and whoever booked her should've done some research. Honestly, this gal is a very good singer. Take a look at her "Tiny Desk Concert." It's just her, her piano, and a couple of acoustic guitarists backing her, totally live and quite impressive. I believe that she was intoxicated or otherwise impaired on this particular occasion (the home run derby), and glad she's seeking help if this was her wake-up call. But frankly, it would've been a lot better if she or someone with some influence would've decided that she wasn't in any shape to go out there, and instead, they should have had some random staff person go out and announce, "Ladies and gentlemen, let's all stand and sing our National Anthem together."
