I’ll never forget seeing this live on tv. Best rendition I have ever heard.

it somehow reminded me of Taps. I always felt an overwhelming sense of pride to stand and salute the flag at sunset in remembrance of my fallen brothers and sisters...I remember seeing this live (Colts fan) and before it began, I was a wee bit disappointed that a trumpet player would be doing the National Anthem. I can honestly say, I have never been more happy to be so incredibly wrong. To this day, I come back to this performance time and time again, and the emotions still get to me. Such an amazing performance!!

Im a trumpeter and I’d always played the National Anthem the same traditional way before. Ever since I’ve seen this, I can’t help but (attempt to) model after it. I can’t compete with Botti though, this is a pure masterpiece.

Mr Botti is definitely on my “bucket list” as a concert attendee before I “check out”… the emotion I get from his horn magnificence… is only paralleled by Joe Satriani’s mastery of the guitar (fortunately been to MANY of Joe’s performances)…

I discovered Chris,after my Father died. Missing him and all the years growing up in our home listening to Dad, play his trumpet. I saw an Ad with Chris on the cover. I asked a friend to go with me and it was magical ! So grateful for his talent.🎶🎺

Marvin Gaye's was awful. Don't know what some of you were drinking, but it was awful.
@Will_Moffett Жыл бұрын
@@qdog568 I wasn't alive in the 60s, but I think the people from then would say you have to have soul to get the Marvin Gaye version. Or be a musician. To put it to a beat and make it work is a technical challenge few would try. Some singer attempted it recently and she crashed and burned pretty hard. It's just one of those things you either get it or you don't and if you get it you love it.

My wife and I went to see Chris Botti perform at Greenville's Peace Center March 8th, 2022. He didn't play as much as I expected and he missed many of the notes. His lips were noticeably shot from playing night after night on tour. I will continue to listen to and love his music, but the price of two front row seats wasn't worth his performance that night.

Chris Botti is an excellent musician, but I prefer the National Anthem to be played straight as it was originally arranged, with no "ruffles and flourishes". Herb Alpert's rendition many years ago was the best.
@punchthedog8 ай бұрын
Herb Alpert's rendition was not the original. You are contradicting yourself mid sentence.
