Why can't you believe it ? He was a dominant reliever ... he deserved to get in a few years ago ..

How is Lefty O'Doul not in the Hall of Fame? He didn't throw any games or break any laws. He just hit .349 over 11 seasons and popularized the game in Japan.

good point .. i figured thats what it was ..... the role of the closer definitely has changed .... i remember Goose in the late 70's and what i remember was that he was unbelieveable ... yeah he didnt get 50 saves but again . the role of the closer id completely different now .... very deserving and he should have been in already ..

I agree with you guys on Gossage. I also think Santo should be in. And especially Alan Trammel and Lou Whitaker. They had more double plays than any other duo in MLB history. Trammel was World Series MVP in 1984 and Whitaker was AL rookie of the year in 77 or 78. They both have numbers comparable or better than other second basemen and shortstops that are in ther hall.

Barry Bonds WAS great...even before steroids. But guys like him helped make the era a black mark in baseball history. Maybe he and McGwire can have a seperate wing for the way they cheated. Add Sosa, Palmiero, Clemens. Call it the Hall of Infamy.

Pathetic sports writers didnt vote for Ron Santo, have them pay and goto the games and cheer for their team, oh they wont but the fans do and have no say so in this vote. Useless Cooperstown building.

I don't know. It's bizarre because he was an exceptional international ambassador of baseball in addition to being a great player. People need to keep petitioning to get him in the hall.
