Your dad is awesome...If I had asked my dad for Sailor Moon stuff, I would have probably gotten a bloody nose. I love him anyway, he has matured a lot and I believe our relationship is getting better. I haven't told him that I'm gay though, but he's not retarded he must have noticed by now and I don't see why I have to talk to him about my sexuality.

Hells yeah! Out & proud right here! My mom was supportive & loving while dad was a little more distant. I was expected to get married, have babies & be the perfect little housewife. Dad was really disappointed until I told him that he had 2 options: accept it & get over it OR get mad & lose his daughter. He chose the first :) I am very lucky to have parents who were supportive. If anyone needs someone to talk to I'm here to be a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. No judgements just love:)

@MeVagYo Actually, people don't choose their sexuality. I'm not saying 'it's a trap!', but that it usually has to do with people's preferences. Like when people prefer certain flavors. But then again, sometimes people's sexuality may change depending on their experiences with certain sexes and also with how they were raised.

I just hope that I gain the maturity and understanding needed not to be resentful towards him, because in the long run that will end up hurting me.

@jacobs946 It's because everyone needs encouragement sometimes. Also, you don't have to be gay to celebrate, other people can, too. Also, it's to raise awareness about people who come out; not to say that my sexuality is better than yours.
