National Financial Reporting Authority, autonomous body, will regulate auditors and their firms or CA and their firms, all listed and large unlisted firms, firms and dealings/matters referred by central government. While Institutes of Chartered Accountants of India will continue to regulate certain set of firms like private Ltd. Atleast two financial regulators for now NFRA, ICAI dor overseeing / surveiling the activities of Chartered Accountants/auditors and their firms. NFRA will also have powers to impose penalties and punitive actions against defaulting auditors, their companies, or if proved of financial misconduct.
