NATIONAL RECORD

A new national record was set in the indoor 4x400m at the third annual The VA Showcase on Friday in Lynchburg, Virginia, with Ashton Allen anchoring his team in a remarkable split of 46.5 seconds. He led the Bulldogs to a winning time of 3:12.53, which surpassed the former record of 3:13.06 last set by New Bern (NC) High School in 2009.

I have no idea why people dislike the move. First the school in which all of these young men transferred to is academically on point. Second the schools that two of them transferred from were less than stellar. Three two of them have run together on the same indoor and outdoor track team since they were 8 or 9 years old and have run similar events qualifying and were All-Americans since that time. Last but not least for those that don't know Ashton has been pretty much the best sprinter in the country at his age group since he was 8 and it didnt matter if he was at the bottom of the bracket he still finished top 8 and if I were a young man I'd want to play on Lebrons high school track team as well (Yes I referenced him as the Lebron of high school track).... Look at it this way you can guarantee that college coaches will show up at the meets to watch them run and talk to them. What coaches need to do is train their kids to show up as well because these young men can only occupy 4 scholarships and the rest are up for grabs.

For us (Texas) it’s against state rules for you to transfer schools for athletic purposes (I’m not saying that’s what bullis did) so that way there is actual competition for different schools

damien lewis Bullis is in MD not Texas. Kids here go to private schools because competition is better. Kids are constantly transferring for college visibility and preparation. The best kids def transfer and team up in other high school sports (IMG academy, oak hill, monteverde academy)

Find a hill that is a mile or a couple miles and Jog it once every two weeks. for five months. Everything will increase. Your form, your stamina, your breathing and your body adjusting to the amount of energy it needs for the journey. Hills work the whole body but it's not good to do them everyday unless you have conditioned yourself to have small things to do. Training on one hill path is what puts your body weight against you and works your thighs, stride, core all at once. Make sure you eat and drink plenty of water and then rest 2 weeks from hills and you will see your muscles pushing up a notch every week and solidify 2 weeks before you do it again. Your body will get use to it and start to see other things like an 8 hundred as light cake.
