Emma, my family and I (3 adults, 1 teen, 3 dogs and 1 cat), endured Hurricane Ian in Cape Coral, FL, in September, 2022. Definitely stay away from windows and even glass sidelines on doors. We lost a brand new fence, most of the pool that was starting to be built, and electricity for 2 weeks. Water supply is a must. Be so careful and keep listening to the weather people. You will be in my prayers. 😮❤🙏🏻

Hurricane Katrina destroyed our house in New Orleans. Not the wind, but the flooding. Six to eight feet of water inside the house for over three weeks ruins almost anything, especially driven by category three winds. Fortunately you are on a hill and your house won’t flood though the wind will pick up outdoor furniture, sports equipment, etc. Good luck. Let us know how you are. Make sure your vehicles have gas, that you have cash, and do laundry now. Gas stations can’t pump gas without electricity. ATMs need electricity too, and cash registers/credit card readers also rely on electricity. In emergencies, cash is king! Charge all devices. If your phone has little charge, text messages because texts take less power. Let your family know where and how you are. Again, good luck!

In the opening shot of the video Teddy looks like he’s ready to stand guard. Emma, if the wind is strong enough to blow moss off the roof, it’ll do more damage than that. My prayers are with you. Board up your windows. Unfortunately, sheds will not survive, but the vehicles will have some protection in the shed even if it does survive the storm. Projectiles can't get to the cars easily if pieces of shed are on top of them. Bring your sheep/goats into the house. They will not survive outside.

I would put the dome in the corner of the house. And tie down, if at all possible. We live in tornado country, so we are used to it. As others stated, bring everything you can inside. Tie down everything else. If at all possible board your windows up and make sure you fill up your bathtubs with water. This way if you lose electricity and stuff, you can use this water for the dogs, the toilet, etc. Also, get as much bottled water as you can. Please keep us updated as much as possible! ❤

I live on the Gulf of Mexico coast and have been through many hurricanes. Cat 1 hurricane is 75 mph, Cat 4 is 140 mph. Can you pick up the dome and put in garage? It won't make it. Praying for you. Get in a basement or room with no windows. Here in the states, having insurance doesn't work. We have to have separate windstorm insurance. Love you guys. Take care.

Hunker down on the lower floors: 1-2 rooms with ways to sleep for everyone. Cover windows where you shelter to prevent shattered glass, GO INSIDE and fix shelter for all the family now: batteries, blankets rain coats and warm coats water some food snacks, games, flash lights, tools , shut off the GAS or know where to do it. Forget the dome. Shelter one vehicle close to side of your house or strong building opposite side from direction of storm. Park at least one vehicle where you can easily get it to take you to safer place if you have a lot of damage after the storm. Get out any waterproof tarps and keep them where you can get to them after the storm. STOP fussing over stuff you can replace. Prep your inside first! and prep for a few clothes loss of power during and after storm after storm do you have fireplace or grill but make sure vented to outside: Animal safety: Dogs Cats shelter with you. Kids drag small mattresses into sheltered area: No real candles unless in safe lanterns tea-lights battery candles put water in your tub so can flush toilet if water pressure from city water supply is out Your fences look sturdy and may be relatively ok, Here in America many are rethinking how to secure serious items like your oil tank ALL the time so it’s ready for anything. Emergency items stored in one place and plan for cold as well as hot weather. I live in FL= hurricanes and have gotten more emergency organized these past years. First Aid kit and critical meds in shelter rooms. I hope this is just a “drill” but weather is so worse now. Prayers and hugs!

If a storm or bad weather is approaching, you should keep everything you can in the house, in the shed or in a barn. The animals belong in the stable and you should also get to safety in the house. Hopefully nothing bad happens. You should also have home contents and personal liability insurance.

From my experience in Australian cyclones, You need to flip the trampoline upside down. The wind will get under it otherwise. The dome will go unless you take it down . Tape the windows in a large X. Stay safe.

Hello from Florida! I've been through a few hurricanes, we bring in anything that can be a projectile. We also cover up our windows. Loss of power is also a given and so we stock up on water and food that doesn't require refrigeration. I know that advice is too late to help, just sharing info. Put mattresses in front of your windows, if possible. If you have curtains and shades, definitely close them. Fill the tubs with water. During the worst, try and stay in an inside room with no windows. Please stay safe.

I think you said that there is no prediction of tornadoes. However, they often appear with hurricanes. Stay in an interior room on the bottom floor. Don’t forget to be aware of the eye of the storm. It can fool you. Hope you have a good weather radio.

The house windows appear to be double glazed, thus much tougher and keeps the heat in more, my home while apart of a estate, is like 50 years old and it's gone through a lot of storms over the years and it's stayed strong so I think Malmute Manor will be fine!!
